One week later?

I know that YMMV on recovery, but I was wondering how most of you felt one week after surgery. I'm having surgery on July 15th, and my mother is planning my future SIL's bridal shower for the following Sunday. I'm sure hugging might be optional for me, my PS doesn't use drains, but will I be up for this? He didn't mention any showering restrictions, only exercise/lifting. Personally I was planning on sewing and crocheting on the deck for 2 weeks to take advantage of it, but I might be making shower favors instead!
