Will you wear a bikini after your TT?

By WendyL on 06 Mar 2011

I've been thinking about it. I typically wear a one piece with a tummy slimmer/panel thing that looks like it's a tankini and a bottom; while I love my bathing suit the main thing holding me back from a two piece was my gross stomach (I have pretty big boobs too though and they may not be appropriate for beach viewing :) ). But now... I just wonder how many of us will be breaking out a bikini for this summer?

I've spent my whole life wearing a bikini; even before my TT I was able to find some bottoms that helped hide my stomach flaws since my surgical scars were so low.

Once I got older I though I would "graduate" to a one piece, now I don't have to (as long as I keep working out!)

I now love the Bikini!!   Strut your stuff and be proud :)

haha! I'm actually going ahead with a breast reduction and lift as well as the tummy tuck, so maybe next summer I can wear one. Not sure how healed up I'll be for Lake Erie swimming come June.

I have never been able to wear a bikini because I was over weight until 4 years ago but now that I just got my tt and lipo I sure hope the results are good enough so that I at least have the option.

Yes!! I have worn one for the past 3 years (my sag us pretty low, so my bottoms hid it). I still have mild loose skin higher up, but I wore a bikini anyway!

I cannot wait to buy a new lower one after my surgery!!

My husband once told me " wear your bikini if you want to, Who do you have to impress...Only me right?" So even when I weighed 240 at 5'9",
Now Since I have lost 62 pounds and I have had my tummy tuck, lip, I will definitely be sporting my bikini and being proud of it.

I'm 55, so feel I'm past bikini age! :D However, with this tummy, I could do, if I wanted.

You are never past the bikini age if you can look good in one!!
55 is definately not too old!

I'll be wearing mine as long as I can get away with it!

Amen Madison!

I'm 55 and been rockin' a bikini all my life. Now with my new tummy, I don't have to hide a thing!

To re-answer my own question, I'm wavering on the two piece. My scar is really high and extends around to my back (I had hanging skin over my hips that was removed) and I'm nervous about it. Plus, my reduction made my breasts a B- which is a bit smaller than I was comfortable with, but what can you do now? I still fit in my one piece, the top is a little large but I can work with that.

You just really need to go with what you are comfortable in.  It is all about how you feel in the suit...no matter what style it is.

They make some really nice enhancement swim suit tops.  That would give you a little more fullness for the top.  Never in my life thought I would be wearing one of these but they are great!

I am 55 and spent my February post-TT convalescence buying bikinis on eBay. Found some gorgeous ones -- brand new and great deals. You bet I am going to wear them! :)

Most Definitely going to strut on the beach in a bikini this summer in Ocean City.. A big reason I am getting tummy tuck is because I live near the beach and will be spending 5 months out of the year on weekends on the beach! Can't wait to have my pre-baby tummy back next Friday!!!!

I have always worn bikinis but with a tank top over. I just ordered a new string bikini from victoria's secret. I love it, my husband did too!!!! U strut your stuff and be confident!!

I haven't worn a bikini in at least 12 years. I'm surely going to have to work up the nerve to do it again.

Hubby and I are getting some R&R at the beach this weekend. I really wanted to wear a 2 piece and would have if this heat rash had not decided to invade my new flat stomach :0/ This happened after wearing my CG for about 20 hours and waking up during the night really hot! Hoping it will clear up with some 1% Hydrocortizone cream. Has anyone else had this happen?

if my results look as good as the pics I have seen here, I will definitely be sporting a 2pc bikini!!
