Veteran TT's... about how many sizes did you go down after TT?

By teachfish70 on 01 Jun 2011

Mainly interested in pants/shorts sizes. My frame is probably a size 8 but I need a 14 to go around my waist because of belly. Just wondering about how many sizes women like me might go down after a tt?

Would love to see some responses for this post. I have lost weight and all of my shorts are too big but don't know if I should buy smaller or wait......

Hi,
I'm an 8 and didn't go down more than 5lbs. I still wear an 8 but have no muffin top. just a smoother, firmer look.

Not sure if I am a veteran TT yet... I was size 4-6 pre-op, always carrying muffin top. Now at 2 months post-op, I am still at least one size BIGGER than before, due to swelling. I am still wearing stretchy pants and skirts.

OMG that is soooo good to hear!!! I am one month post op and cannot fit my clothes, at least one size up. I am not alone!!!! Good luck with the swelling girl.

I'm 2 months post op too. Probably not a vetran either but my current shape seems natural for my size 8 body and looks right with the rest of me versus size 8 looking 5 months pregnant. I'm 5'8" and 144...I'm not expecting much more.
My husband thinks I look great ;P

I am 9 months out from my surgery. I had extended tt and lipo all around belly and upper legs. I worked out on regular basis (cardio, abs, and weights) before surgery and still do. I weighed 155 lbs. the day of my surgery and wore a sz. 10/12 slacks and M/L shirt. To date, I weigh 125 lbs. and wear a sz. 2 slacks and a S shirt. I still can't believe it -- the BEST thing that I ever did!! Don't buy too much for a while (even though nothing fits and you are slimmer). My ps told me the results would continue to "get better every day and month." How right he was!

Now that is what I wanted to hear! I don't expect to go down 3-4 sizes immediately but after looking at women with bellies like me, there is no way they didn't lose inches around their waists after the tt. I am so happy for you. Thanks for your input, you have made me smile and given me a more positive attitude!

I am also 2 months post op, I lost 5 pounds, but no sizes. I went in at a 4 and am wearing the same clothes as before. It looks great and I feel great, went to the waterpark and actually wore a bikini for the first time in years

We seem to be telling you the same thing teachfish70...we only lose a maximim of 5 pounds each and are wearing the same size but just look better doing it because instead of a flabby fatty loose skin size -whatever, we are all a firmer, smoother size whatever at the 2 month mark.
teachfish70 1 Jun 2011
Thank you all so much for your input! It looks to me like most of you were pretty small to begin with and wanted mainly to get rid of flabby skin. I am happy that all of you are so pleased with your 2 month results so far. Best of luck to all of you!

I'm 5'7" and before my TT, I weighed 135lbs and wore a size 6; sometimes a size 4.

Now I'm 125lbs and wear a wear a size 2 and it's roomy.

Awesome!!! Good for you. I hope you feel as great as you probably look. Thanks for your response :)

I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs - that's pre and post op. Stayed a size 4. Just don't have to tuck my skin into my pants anymore!

I am only 3 months post-op, but I immediately lost 20 lbs within two weeks of the surgery. Wasn't trying, just happened, so I went down at least two sizes. Haven't gained any weight back and still feel a little swollen, so hoping I may go down even one more size.

I'm 6 weeks post op today and I too had to wear a size 12 because of my muffin top. I am now down to a size 8 and loving it!
teachfish70 2 Jun 2011
Holy cow, that's awesome!!! I am a size 14 and just praying to be down to a 10 after this. Thanks for your response. Much more hopeful now :)

I'm a 14 too and would love a size 10.. I'm scheduled for 6/9 and just bought a ton of yoga clothes to wear during my recovery.. Are you getting lipo too ? I'm getting my inner thighs, chunky arms & chin done. Nervous about missing so much work but so excited.. Good luck to you!
teachfish70 3 Jun 2011
I was originally scheduled for arms and neck, too, but then decided that it would be too much for me at one time. I am getting lipo on my hip rolls (flanks). I am planning on getting my neck and arms done about a year from now after I save up some more $$$. I am scheduled 6/21. Got any pics to share?
DublinMommie 26 Jun 2011
Never took pics of my arms & neck but my PS did. Double chin is totally gone but for me was extremely painful!!?PS said that is more uncommon, that most have little to no neck pain. As for arms, took fat from behind, I wanted the fat from the front .. But he knows best.. How are you feeling? I know you are on wk #1

I was a size 10 pre op and now in a size 4/6 petite depending on the clothes. Each person is different though.

I went down almost 10lbs initially and was a size 14 now down to a size 10 and am 6 months post-op. I was wearing larger waists but had baggy legs but no more! I just recently donated 21 pairs of pants but hanging on to some because it's trickier now to find the right fit since I still have some swelling.

I held out as long as I could before I couldn't take the oversized underwear and pants that were falling down or required a tight belt just to stay up. The bunching crotch is the best, especially when you're sitting or at work...well, anywhere...endured a few odd looks.

Good luck!

I was way heavier than I thought prior to my TT. I didn't weigh myself for the 3 years prior to it, just went by how I felt. Anywhohow, I am down 12 lbs and was a size 8 or 6 before and now find size 4 is a bit big.

oooo these comments are so lovely to hear and so refreshing to know that most peeps go down a size or maybe 2. I am currently a size 10-12 and would so love to be able to wear a smaller size. My belly seems to be lower than a lot of pics I've seen on here, I've not really had a problem with a muffin top but further down nearer my lala region. i wear a size too big pants though so maybe this is why i don't have the dreaded muffin top. i am hoping and praying that when this is over with I'll be able to wear pants and not look 5 or 6 months pregnant. 9 days and counting (got a vacation in between too which helps with the anxiety)

New too, vacation started today!!!
