Thank you all for you responses. I have had the split removed and am actually more unhappy with my nose now. My nostrils are very exposed - a had a downward tip which covered my nostrils and I requested my tip to be reduced. I now have large exposed nostrils - they look very round and prominent and my nose has gone from a skinny/narrow nose to a flat wide nose. It seems he has pushed it back. I requested to see my surgeon again ASAP, however he has declined my offer and advised he only wants to see me after the standard time of 6 weeks. The nurse and the clinic keep saying it's the swelling, not to worry etc but even with the swelling my nose looks far too small and flat. They felt 'it looks nice' 'it looks like a normal nose' and ' people won't notice the change'. But it's a huge change and not s subtle enhancement like a wanted. They also said if I'm not happy with it in the long run - to give it a few months - that they can look at it for me. I'm distressed that I have to go back to work with a disfigured and dramitically changed nose. A few of you have also mentioned that if I trust my doctor i should wait - my consulation with him was very rushed and i was then assured that is how he deals with all his patients, but he is the best surgeon they have. Dr Saif Khan - Transform clinic. I'm very worried and wish I could go back to having my old nose back.

I know how you feel. I wonder if my new nose will go down eventually. It looks too ski slopish and turned up. I have a hard time beleiving it's just swollen.

Hi, i recently had a nose job (two weeks ago) and i now look like a pig. Again they said it is just swollen..I was just wondering what your nose looks like now and if it calmed down a bit??

I realize it has been a year and you may no longer be active on this site, but if so, can you tell me how this turned out for you? I am having the same issue and I'm just completely horrified and clueless as to what I will do.

I am having the same problem. I am 4 days post-op and it looks horrid. Did yours ever go down or change? thanks:)

piggy nose, too? wow, i came looking for reassurance and.. well.. we're all in the same boat! (is that reassuring?) i am 17 days after surgery and my nose is such pig snout! the angle that it is sloped to looks ridiculous! just like everyone else, i am told that it is swollen and will go down. how? how will that angle change? i am a patient girl, but i am really nervous about this one. please keep posting and hang in there!

i have the same problem and i had mine done 3 weeks ago. My surgeon has said the same about being patient etc. problem is i didn't even say to reduce the length or the tip, he denies even doing anything like that. I am also embarrassed to go out, once or twice that i had to people that i don't even know are staring at me thinking whats wrong with my nose

Dont' DO IT. I had mine done in the 80's and it is STILL a snout. Especially when I smile, the nostrils just rise up and the septum in the middle stays down. UUUUUGLLY, and doesn't even look like what I used to look like. I would have gotten a revision if I had the money back then.

I know what you are talking about. I never wanted my nose shortened and now I have a nose that is way too short and turned up. I am having a second rhino done now to lenghten my nose when I loved the legnth of my real, natural nose. My doctor should be committed.

Are you still unhappy? I am only 9 days post, and I have a similar complaint. Just hope you get happy with it!
Ash12345 22 Jun 2009
It has been almost 6months since my rhino and I still hate it just as much as I did the first week. I don't care what the dr.'s say. I think you can pretty much tell what your nose is going to look like immediatley. It's not like your nose is just going to change b/c you wait it out. I have scheduled a revision. This time it is going to cost me alot more money though,. However I trust this Dr. completley and feel it will be worth the extra money. I know all the Dr.'s say to wait at least a year to see the true shape but I disagree 100%
Emily321 17 Feb 2010
How did the revision go?
Ash12345 20 Feb 2010
I had the revision done in october. getting used to it was so weird. I looked like a stranger to myself. The dr. put rib cartiledge in and my nose was too long for my face and too straight sort of. I dont think I had an indent between my bridge and tip. Its been awhile now and I like it better but Ive gotten some bumps on the bridge of my nose. I seriously dont even want to go through the trouble of having my doctor fix my nose. He would have to take out the rib cartiledge in my nose and shave it down and then put it back in my nose. The cartiledge has kind of warped too and my nose is sort of crooked. But I can say that at least I feel better with my nose like this then with my pig nose the first dr. gave me. I just want to keep moving on with my life. I just wish though I had my real nose.

Well, the same thing happened to me 15 years ago and I am unhappy to this day. My nose was shortened and widened and I was not warned beforehand. It seems quite hard now to lengthen a shortened nose...

I am going through the same thing. I don't know if I look more like Miss Piggy, Michael Jackson, or my dog. I am just curious if there is anybody out there who has had the same upturned pig snout go back down and look like a normal nose--and if so, how long it took. I am so depressed and it would mean the world to me if somebody could respond! Thanks!

I am having the same issue. Has yours gone down at all in the last few days? I don't know what to do. I thought I was clear that I didn't want a huge change in the tip and preferred none. I never had a problem with the tip of my nose. I had just broken it before and wanted it straightened. My doctor says he can take out some stitches tomorrow but it won't be the same still and it will not feel good to have him to go in there now.
Ash12345 18 Feb 2010
I am sorry. I had to have my rib put in my nose to fix a pig nose. My first dr is a lunatic and scooped my nose out and turned it up. Leaving me w/ a miss piggy nose. My nose looks better after having it fixed but it will never be the same. :(
Emily321 20 Feb 2010
Totally understand. I think my doc is a little bit loony too and tried to make me think I was crazy to like my original nose. Kept telling me it was a masculine nose. Well, what matters is that I never had a problem with it. I had a pretty face, just a crooked nose and he went in and scooped out way too much. I'm totally bummed it will never the same too :( You'd think they would try to do a small change and then do more later if you want it just to be careful. I just want to go on like normal and will try to do that but overall I'm disappointed in what he did to my face and that I trusted (and paid) him to ignore what I had said to him before.
Emily321 26 May 2010
who fixed that scoop and tip for you? and how did he/she do it?
MrsPugNose 7 Mar 2010
I have the same thing and am now six weeks post surgery. The picture in my profile was taken yesterday. My bridge has been scooped out into a slope, and my nose is severely overrotated and over-shortened. It's infuriating because I had a pretty good nose to start with and only needed minor work done. Anyway, I'm wondering if any of you had the nose drop more after six weeks? It's just hard to believe that it will. Also, if any of you have had this problem and gotten it fixed, or have found a great new p.s. to fix it when the time is right, I would appreciate it so much if you would send me a private message and let me know his name. Thanks!

Hi there just wanted to let you know that i was in the same situation as you. I had my open rhinoplasty 2 weeks ago today and my old nose only needed minor surgery done as well. I just needed a little bit of a bridge on the very top and wanted to bring in the sides very slightly as well as the doc suggesting to refine the tip a little. I already had a very straight bridge so no correction was needed there. Anyways, when i got my splint off i was horrified to see a pig/alien like nose from the front on view, but the side profile looked alright just very pushed up in the air. It also looked very crooked to one side and one nostil was bigger and almost deformed looking. When i took a look at your pic...that's pretty much exactly what my nose looked like between 6-10 days post op! but as the days have gone by(now at day 14)my nose has dropped significantly. I no longer see my nostrils up like the pig/alien last week and the swelling on the tip has gone down so much too. So be patient....the tip will come down, some people just take alot longer. I can tell by your picture that you're nose will look great!
Newme71710 31 Jul 2010
Wow, your nose looks just like mine! Because I have never met you, I would say your nose looks really cute. My nose looks better than most of my work colleagues, but it looks worse than the nose I started with in the first place? I am too embarrassed to even show up at work because of my piggy/alien/Grinch/Michael Jackson nose. I am 3 weeks post op today and I am going broke from missing so much work.

Collagengir,

Did you decide to go through with it? If so, how has it been?
