If it is 4 years years ago it may need a revision. Mine was somewhat upturned for the first month and can sometimes still be like that because of swelling. However 4 years seems like quite a long time.

P.S my surgery was done 4 years ago , The consultant says that I have thick skin and I have rhinitis and this is the reason it hasn't healed as he hoped!!!!!! None of this mentioned before surgery I may add.... Also, to add, that my nose drips like a tap, is constantly bunged up and to be honest I sniff SO MUCH ...I'm sure people think I'm a cokehead!!!!!!

I have not had any revision surgery due to cost . My original surgeon refuses to take any responsibility for his work so... having had many meetings with him I have gotten no where . I had a great consultation with Charles East at Harley street London and would love for him to perform revision , but... cannot afford to have it done.....

I had an open rhino 6 weeks ago and my nose now is short, upturned and unnatural. The tip had dropped a bit after the removal of the cast but since then I don't see any improvement. I can see that the swelling went down a lot but still have some in the tip area. I hope my tip will drop more but I doubt it'll reach the level I want. So please if you relate to my story share your experience. Thanks

My nose was horribly upturned 2 days after surgery I was so angry. Today I am 8 days post op. it has turned down quite a bit and is almost where I want it. Swelling can make the nose tip up. I have been taking bromelain to help swelling go down.

hi people, iam also on the same boat as you all. But I think there is one angle we are all missing here. a lot on the nose has got to do with visual perception. so we shouldnt unestimate swelling. the swelling on the inside and outside camouflages certain curves and ultimately depth. it definitely distorts the nose's appearance on the outside. so when the docs say to wait for the swelling to go down, its not just the outside swelling bu the insides too. as tissues inside heal, the skin wraps over a better framework. the tip will go from a ball to a pliable sharper feature as time progresses and as a result it looks less boxy and stout from the profile. this is what they mean when they say tip drops. as a result of the tip skin losing its tightness and the skin sagging slightly, it appears as though the nasolabial angle has gotten less obtuse with time. i hope iam right!!! any doctor pls validate.

Hi,

I had open rhino about 6  month ago. The first 4 months after the operation I went exactly trough what some of you are describing.  My nose was swollen and very upturned, it looked very bad and I was sure that it was not going to get any better with time.
After six month I have to say that it improved a lot, it came down quit a bit and now Im preatty sure it will improve more with time.
I cant be sure that this will happen in every situation but aparently most of the time the upturned nose will be resolved with time after all the swollen is gone
Be patien and good luck

Well it's been always your choice you should think of it before going into rhino plasty surgery. Hope for your recovery soon and consult to the experts only.

I still hate my nose 2 and a half years later. Is there any way to possibly fix this without doing the surgery again? I went in because I didn't have a bridge and you could see my brain since my nostrils were just so in your face. Now I literally look like Michael Jackson. I'm even crying writing this. Nobody admits it to my face but people talk crap about me all the time and call me Michael Jackson. Even little kids will look at me and tell their parents that I look like Michael Jackson. This is actually the first day in the 2.5 years I've broken down. It's just built up after all these years and I can't take it anymore. If someone knows anyone that can help, pls refer them. I'm completely depressed about this.
