Day 8 after Moh's surgery on my nose:Hello everyone. I got my 16 external stitches removed on my nose yesterday after a Moh's surgery for basal cell cancer. The cancer was on the left tip of my nose. I was happy with the scar, although it's big. It looked pretty good. This morning I woke up and saw what I didn't see yesterday. One nostril is now higher and bigger than the other. From a front view, my left nostril is higher than my right. It also looks larger. From a side view, it points upward. Before I had the surgery, I met with a Moh's surgeon and a cosmetic surgeon on doing the surgery. I also saw a dermatologist who recommended the Moh's surgeon. I went with the Moh's surgeon and now am thinking I made a big mistake! I asked the Moh's surgeon about having a cosmetic surgeon close it. He assured me he was trained well and a cosmetic surgeon couldn't do anything he couldn't in my circumstance. I remember the cosmetic surgeon mentioned in the consult that this was a sensitive area cosmetically. He also mentioned if not done correctly, this could happen. Any similar experiences? I'm wondering if it will change after the internal stitches dissolve. It doesn't seem to be swollen, although I guess it could be. Regardless, I see no hope of it changing enough to make my nose normal again. Can I get it fixed immediately, or will I have to wait for healing? What are my options? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
