What type of Bra

My surgery was on the 14th.  I am only uncomfortable beacuse of the bra I am wearing.  Is the idea of the bra for complete support and to keep everything compressed or is it for a light support and to help with the healing.  I find that at the end of the day my breasts are tingling and so is my back which leads me to believe the bra is to tight but it is and XL.  I found one today that is not as tight but may also be too big if compression is what is needed. Any advice would be appreciated as this is the only thing that remains uncomfortable for me. Thank you
