Considering a Tummy Tuck

Hello, I am 46 years old and I've been thinking of getting a tummy tuck for a while now. I had 3 kids, my youngest is 18. I weight 90 kg and I am 1,62cm high.  I know I am heavy but I do workout 3 times a week, I have no health problems. I would like to have a tummy tuck and inner thigh lipo. Can I get any advise? I think that being 46 I want to be able to enjoy my body before is too late.

Hi Angie, thank you for your comment. It's been a roller coaster of emotions, I contacted one doctor in my area, and the assistant, after a few questions told me to call back when I've lost weight. I mean I understand there must be some guidelines to be followed, but the way she made me feel was horrible. I've been told to get to a BMI of 28 or less for a consultation to another Dr. I do not see this procedure as a weight loss solution, but that flap I have in my tummy is what really bothers me, when I run it hurts, when I try clothes is "there". Because of the answers that I've got around my area I would consider going somewhere else for surgery. I'll keep you posted.

Hi there and welcome to RealSelf! What sort of guidance are you seeking? You look like a great candidate for a tummy tuck. I would suggest scheduling no less than three consultations with different plastic surgeons in your area and starting from there. It will give you a good idea of what you like and don't like in a surgeon and his/her office staff.

To find a doctor, click the Find a Doctor tab just above your forum post.

And to get the most out of RealSelf, please do consider posting a Review in our Tummy Tuck community (which is basically your story. I'm encouraging people to start writing about their journeys even before surgery).

Thanks for finding us and posting here!
