Tummy tuck 9 days ago and gained 18 pounds from swelling

I had a full tummy tuck March 2nd. Before surgery I weighed in at 176 which i was really excited about the doctors told me they took out 5 pounds skin and fat?? Now here's my problem: my stomach looks great, nice shap but swelling all over my body. Got on the scale and weighed 195. I said oh my god what's going on, called the doctor he said don't worry it will all go down in a few weeks. I can't fit my jeans and have to wear jogging outfits because of the swelling. Help!
I know Liposuction is not a form of weight loss, but i am surprised my weight and size is the same after a inner thigh liposuction, and a tummy tuck with liposuction. My thighs still feel big. Why is this? Do they inject you with fluid in the surgery? could it also be the swelling? Thank you for your help. :-)
