In 10 days, I will be traveling to South America for a month to both visit family and get either a TT or BL. Being in Memphis & a student, I can't really afford a BL here. I am starting to get nervous(not only surgery but 1st time out of country & alone) and wonder if anyone has any tips/advice?TY

If you have a choice, I'd want the longest recovery time possible. I'd do it the first week.

I haven't had my surgery yet, and I'm worrying about flying across the country 3.5 months after. I think the long time sitting could be a possible concern. It's easy to say you can get up and walk around, but in reality, it is not always allowed.

Good luck, whatever you decide.

Thanks for the reply!

Actually, the plastic surgeon is my uncle and I will be staying with them (his wife is a doctor too). For the first few days, I'll be staying at his clinic and then going back to his mansion estate with maids (lol at least that'll be enjoyable).

I'll be down there for a month and haven't decided if I should do the surgery the second week (=3 weeks recovery) or 3rd (=2weeks recovery). Will flying back be difficult?

What you're considering is called Medical Tourism and has some advantages (mainly cost) as well as a few pitfalls to watch out for. Have you found a doctor there yet? Can your family give you any recommendations?

A tummy tuck is major surgery and you want to make sure you do your homework before embarking on something like that. You'll also need to make sure you have your family or someone else to take care of you for the first few days. Traveling afterward may also be difficult.

I would say to plan this out as much as you can before you go down there. You don't want to make a quick decision on something as important as your health.
