Thanks so much for the reply. My surgery is scheduled for 11:00 am CST. I feel very confident with my PS, he did my BA 5 years ago and I was really pleased. I'm just really nervous about getting up to go to the bathroom and not being able to see well (I won't be able to wear glasses for a while). I will definitely stay on top of the pain meds and follow all of the doctors orders. Thanks in advance for the prayers.

I am a newbie and I am scared too! I am having a tummy tuck and rhinoplasty Dec. 30. I just hope I made the right decision to have both at the same time. Please don't tell me if I didn't because it is too late to turn back now. This site has been really helpful in preparing me for the TT.

Hi Hope, Welcome! Sounds like you made a great decision. Why be a drugged zombie more than once? LOL! For real though, I do not remember much pain at all. Just make sure you take the meds that are prescribed at the times suggested and follow your PS instructions and I bet you will be so happy very soon. What time is your surgery on the 30th? I am a big believer in the power of prayer and would love the opportunity to be praying for you during your surgery.
* I do have one suggestion. Make sure that you and your PS have the exact same expectation for your result. Go over and over it, hopefully with diagrams and estimates of how much you will change in each area. You have probably already done this but so many people don't.

TNHope, you will do fine. I had four procedures done at one time: TT, breast lift with implants and a Lipoma removed. The good thing about having so much done at once is that I only felt the arm pain; the rest I didn't feel until I play hero and stop pain meds. LOL I decided to have it all at once because I know myself and how I will procrastinate to have the rest done.

Thanks Gracey!!! I am so nervous tonight and I just can;t wait to that "calm" to kick in that everyone talks about. We should definitely get together after all is said and done. Just realized I didnt answer your questions Gracey... I am going in at 7:30am and my surgery is at 9am. Yes, I will be staying overnight at the Surgical Center...woah! So scared! But its all good!! :-)

My main concern is I want to get back in my bed to sleep. I have tried the bed but end up back in the recliner. I miss my sleep.

Hi Carol! I am 14 days PO from a full TT and I am back sleeping in my bed and can even sleep sort of on my side a bit. It is heaven. I hated the recliner sleeping too. Make sure you are taking all your pain meds/muscle relaxers and maybe you will sleep better. You will feel so much better soon.

I was given Vicodin and was afraid it wouldn't be enough but it was. I stayed on a regular schedule with it and I had no real pain, just the normal discomfort.

Spinmama, when is your TT? I too am a big big wimp and talked to my doc about it. He wrote me Dilaudid instead of Pecocet because he says it is much stronger. I don't know all the details of Dilaudid but I know it's a derivitive of morphine. You may want to ask your doc about it. My Sx is next Tuesday, the 28th, so I can't tell you if it works. Just thought it would be helpful information. Good Luck!!

The pain is not unbearable. The incision really didnt hurt. The main pain was where he repaired my muscles. I took the medicine for 3 days on now on Tylenol. I am on day 7 and doing great. It is uncomfortable but nothing you cant handle. You will need a recliner.

Piece of cake Spinmama :) What Carol said is right on! It is tolerable but the biggest thing is to be on a regular schedule with your pain meds for those first few days. My husband set the clock so he could make sure I got them on time. Between the pain killers and muscle relaxers, I seriously never felt any pain that I could not deal with. I had some uncomfortable moments, like trying to get up from the bed or lay on the couch but again, nothing I couldn't tolerate.

Spin mama, my TT or breast lift didn't hurt. The first two days I was on morphine and the rest was Vicodin. I did try to go off the meds when I got home and felt the pain of the incisions. I took the pain meds for the first two weeks and I am ok now. Everyone is different, you might not feel a thing. Also, some anesthesiologist nedo a nerve block which reduces the pain.

Sunshine, Each day I am feeling better and better. You are going to do well. You will feel peaceful and you are going to look great soon. I went into surgery very happy thinking all the extra skin was going to be gone that day. Years and years of dreaming, make you feel great when finally becomes a reality. Also, I had in my mind that for a PS this is a routine procedure. The girls here look beautiful and as time goes by, they look better and better. Sunshine, you are in good hands and I am there with you.

question....I had a breast aug 7months ago. They gave me percocet which was great, but I cant imagine it will touch the tummy pain Im about to experience. Is that really all they give you?? Someone said it barely took the edge off. Im so scared of the pain I almost dont know if I can do it...Im wimpy when it comes to pain.

If what they prescribe to you does not work well just call the doctor and let them know. There are some meds that work better than others and everyone is different. Just make sure to really communicate with your doctor and let them know how you are feeling as you go.

They can certainly change the meds up if needed.

I am on day 9 now. With each day you will find you feel better. I didn't go out until day 6 and that was only to see my PS. I went out yesterday by myself and it was very tiring. Give it a few more days and maybe you can make a small outing but keep it small and easy, no sense pushing yourself when you don't have too!

On the news they were broadcasting from there and I saw you have more snow then we do here in Michigan :) Very pretty though! It is snowing here today and I am going out but not to play, just to my sisters candle party! I swear to god if one person says something negative about my tummy tuck I am going through the roof. Not one of them knows about the breasts so we will see if anyone says anything about the girls :)
