natasham- so sorry this has happened to you. My first pregnancy test with twins was negative then 5 days later positive so unfortunatley false negative tests do occur. Please listen to the advice of your doctors and talk with your family. It's not only the physical burden of carrying the baby so soon after surgery but also the effects of the drugs you were given on the developing foetus. It's going to be a difficult decision whatever you decide.

I agree with Mindy Lou. I also went ahead with my surgery after researching and finding that I can still have babies afterwards. Don't give up on your child, yourself, or your family, on what you think may or may not happen. Talk to a doctor first.

I wish that were true but if u search for pregnant while healing you wont find many if any search results. i had one foot of skin removed and am pulled extremely tight. all my children weighed 9-10 lbs by c section x 3.. As much as I hate it a abortion is my only option without risking nyself.

Abortion is not your only option. There are hundreds of woman who have had TT and pregnancies following. Some as close as yours. Go to youtube and search pregnancy after TT and look for forums on the web. They are there and every one I have ever read had healthy babies. Some even had 8lb babies and the majority of them went right back to flat bellies after the births. I did alot of research on pregnancy after TT because I am not 100% sure I am done with children though it would be years down the road for me. I know this must be devistating for you but please take a moment to research it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I hope this helps.

I had a ultra sound yesterday and am 5 weeks 5 days :( Im so traumatized because of this, i just cant believe it happened and is happening. I was advised its a huge risk if i carry and then another chance of birth defects. its so unfair!! I feel like my choce has been taken and an abortion is my only option. i never ever thought i would be faced with such a decision. ill lose a baby an the man of my life. i just cant believe this.

It does seem like a pregnancy test should've picked that up, but when calculating pregnancy, OBs add two weeks (and go from the start date of your last period). So, you were technically only 2 weeks then. Unless you've already taken all that into account.

Definitely call your OB Monday morning and figure out how to proceed.

I'm sure this is a huge shock to you and will take a lot of emotional adjustment. Lean on us if you need to, girl. We're here for you.

They did take my urine and say they did a test, when I called yesterday he said it was negative then made the comment their test could detect even if I was 7-14 days after conception... Makes no sense BC I'm 6 weeks and was a little over 4 then. I am still in shock and can't believe this is happening.

Its weird that they didn't give you a pregnancy test before surgery. I didn't take one, but I'm also single, not currently dating, and have an IUD in place, and I know for a fact pregnancy wasn't even a possibility when I had my TT. You definitely need to contact your dr. (family or OB/GYN) and find out what the effects on the baby would be. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

So I was 4 weeks when the TT was performed. :-(
