Tips for Climbing Stairs After Having Liposuction?

By Jenna from California on 26 Oct 2012

I have not scheduled my surgery date yet because im still trying to get everything in order (mostly $) but, I will be getting both a BA and Lipo (upper and lower abdomen, love handles, and upper back) done at the same time.  I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment (with NO elevator) and recently everyday on my way up the stairs I think to myself, how the hell im going to make it up the stairs after surgery?!?! I really really need help figuring this out, I could have my boyfriend carry me but im afraid that might be more painful then just taking it super slow... Please Help!!

Thank you for the ideas ladies!! My boyfriend and I live together lol so his house is my house :) I think I will just have to take it slow because both his and my parents have stairs in their houses as well :/

Good luck because its rough the first week to go up and down the stairs, bending in any form or fashion or even gettin in and out of bed can be a bit of a pain. All the best to you.

If not I would suggest maybe staying at a hotel or rental with a week or even your boyfriends house for the first week particularly if all those places have an elevator. After the first week you should be fine just take it easy one day at a time.

Hi Jenna, welcome!

Going super-slow may be one of your better options. Do you have any friends/family that could put you up for a few days? Maybe someone with a downstairs bedroom or futon/sofa bed that you could sleep on?
