I had fraxel on the 14th March so I'm 10 days post treatment. I still have a bad break out, and tiny dots all over my face with lumps.I have tiny indents, like micro scars on my forehead and all over my face, has anyone else experienced this as normal?I was told its normal, I also had the lady doing it tell me to use a product the next day which was very strong, when I went back to speak about my concerns, the Dr there didn't believe what I told her. She also told me it takes  months to heal.I honestly cant see a huge difference after so much down time and stress.

Day 3 of no smoking! I'm going in for another Omnilux light therapy today and doing a very light fruit peel, I'll update this forum with the results. I also notice some pigmentation on my upper lip... but If you look closely it looks like tiny little broken capillaries... so it will be interesting to see if that goes! If they try to tell me again today how nice my skin is.. I'm going to lose it, I was already crying in there last time telling that "yes but it was nicer BEFORE this, so imagine how nice it was then!!" They are adamant these holes will heal, and will continue to treat me until they do.

Good luck and be aware they will promise you unicorns and rainbows to make a sale. Hopefully this truly helps you, would it be possible for you to take some pictures, and monitor the healing that way? I have to read more about it but good luck and lots healing !

I'm a big believer in positive thinking also, so I'm doing my best! they are treating me for free, I very rarely believe a sales person because I am one myself lol

Today I went in for an omnilux light therapy, they apparently help the skin heal 4x faster. So I'm going to be doing that twice a week for a little while, and then doing some light peels then go onto stronger ones. I'm also going to give up smoking as I believe that prevents our skin from healing properly, and i also take alot of anti inflammatory medication like neurophen, so I'm going to stop that as it thins the blood! I'm going to get into a really healthy diet. I was trying the honey there for a while but I've been advised not to, and that only healthy skin can tolerate that and mine is not healed yet. Apparently its not anti bacterial enough. I was also told to stop stressing and not to look in the mirror and they assured me it will heal over. So I need to help my skin internally and externally. Worst case scenario for skin texture is a more dramatic type of peel or co2 laser to get rid of many of the surface layers... I wonder is Cosmelan would be a double whammy, although it is not cheap! I'd love to hear of someone who has had cosmelan and if it improved skin texture??? its designed for melasma.

Also get fresh aloe Vera plant it is such a good moisturiser and won't irritate. I use it few times a day and at night I put it on thickly.

yes, seems enlarged pores/ pinholes are a common side effect that the practitioners aren't telling us about. If i had have know this was to be expected after fraxel i would never have had it done, having said that i am 3 months post treatment its a little better but I avoid looking at my face in lights that show this up. I have also noticed scars that were barely visible before are now visible .....................................

I only wanted to get rid of pigmentation on my neck and chest but they suggested i get my face blasted too.....................i didnt have any visible pores in any light and quiet good skin prior................i cant say that now :(

I think they thin the skin. I think they destroy epidermis, even if they are called no ablative. Could it be the body freaks out and starts such a strong inflammatory response and possibly trying to shed skin as much as it can thinning the epidermis. Tricky questions I'm sure someone somewhere knows.

How could they warn us about it when they are too busy denying it happens!!!! its like some huge cover up! I went in for omnilux light therapy today, they are assuring me that these holes will heal. I actually think they are meant to heal, but some people for whatever reason they dont heal! age, diet, skin care, not enough fluid etc

how long ago did you get it done?

I think it is meant to heal, but some people just don't... or older people don't, some skin types, I think there are many factors! but its not irreversible.. its just that to fix it, you need pretty full on treatments!

mine was done 3 months ago and yes your right, many sites and dermatologist say they are meant to heal, mine havent. one dermatologist who comment on one of my questions said that people with oilier skin should take meds to slow down oil production before and after treatment to prevent this , and yes give up smoking , smoking is terrible for your skin

Me? Last one was almost two years ago but I think the strong one was the culprit which was done over two years ago, the last do were quite close together so I didn't realise the damage until after last. I believe they simply went too deep, when you remove tissue too deeply there's nothing that can regenerate it, same as acne scars destroy tissue and leave a depression. There is another lady doing series of peels for laser holes but as far as I know they are still there.

I don't smoke and eat healthy, always worn sunscreen. Simply not meant to cook healthy skin and collagen.

I agree I asked for a strong treatment but assumed she would use her common sense, and convince me to go slowly or at least know what would be too strong!!! I must admit mine are more superficial than yours... I will try and pot a photo soon, they must have done yours reallllyyy deep??? I wish she had of advised against it, I'm only 12 days from having mine so I think if I do lots of light therapy and stop smoking etc I can turn it around... but it still wont be the same as before and I cant even see a difference my skin was better before... they keep trying to convince me my skin looks great, but of course they will!
