Would thigh lipo be enough...

I am having an extended tummy tuck, upper eye lid lift and lipo and or thigh lift in Feb 2014. Im excited but not sure what im doing with my thighs. I have had bad chafing almost all my life and im finally going to do something about it. Im soo hoping that this will end the need for me to wear long leg shape wear under dresses and shorts down to my knees to stop them riding  up my crotch. I dont care what i look like naked i just want to look good in clothes. Has anyone had thigh lipo without the lift? If the saging skin isnt too bad as long as i can hide it under clothes i would be happy. Im concerned that if i have a lift the scar will go down to my knee and be harder to hide than the loose skin. But im more worried that if i dont have the lift as well then it wont fix the chafing. Im very confused about what to do. Can anyone help me please...

I asked ps on this site, was also suggested to go with lipo first then lift later if needed. I probably will need it but i will do that as a seperate surgery when i get my breast lift as well. At least thats the plan today lol! Good on you for the great weight loss thats a fantastic achievement! Fully get how horrible the chafing can be but in my case the weight will just not budge from this area. Even when i was at my smallest my thighs still rubbed. I so hope i will be as happy with my results as you are with yours. Again thanks so much for sharing.

Hi there, welcome!

I've placed a link below to a question which was asked "Thigh Lipo vs Thigh Lift" - 24 doctors answered, so it may be helpful for you.

Hope this helps!

Thanks kristy. I think i am more worried about the rubbing than the saggy skin. But i would like to know if it would still rub after just lipo or would the sagging skin still cause it to rub

I think it's probably best if you submit a question, using our Ask a Doctor form. Just input your question, hit submit and it gets sent out to board certified surgeons. You will recieve an email each time it gets an answer.

I just had a thigh lift with lipo Monday. I lost over 160lbs. Sagging and chaffing my entire life. I'm day 5 post op but my surgeon did tell me my thighs would probably still touch after my procedure. I see a huge difference and love the results of my surgery so far (still early) and cannot wait to see the end results!

Congrats Amazloum, that's a huge achievement! You should be very proud!

If you don't mind sharing, did you have some sort of weight loss surgery, or just diet/exercise?

Thanks amazloum. Im still unsure as to what to do. I really dont want to go through with a complete lift if it wont take away the chafing. Im actually not seeing my surgeon face to face until feb so i guess i will have to wait until then. I think i may go for just the lipo first. I can always do the lift later. Thanks so much for sharing your results. Love to see some before and after pics if you have any...

Thank you! I had gastric bypass in 95 at the age of 20. Dr. Sugarman who pioneered the procedure did my surgery and he was amazing. I maintained my weight through diet and exercise until now slowly working on the fine tuning. My final surgeries will be at the beginning of next year. I will have the excess skin removed from my upper back and a breast lift. Super excited!

They do the lipo during the procedure! :)

If that is what they recommend then it's probably best. I've found that every surgeon and patient have different techniques that work best for their case! I would love to see pics of your journey!!! I can't wait to see my results too!
