Thick and red scar after eyelid surgery

I did my surgery 2 months ago, the circled area which i pointed out are huge red and thick open scar on both sides of my eyes... Is this normal? From pictures I see from people's surgery they don't normally end with a line like that.
My friends can see this line clearly thus asking me whether did I cut my lids or not. I am worried it will stay on me for the rest of my life. Pls advise. Will it fade and go away?

Hi Joline -- Just wanted to follow-up and see how your scars are now that it's been about a year since your surgery. Did they improve since this photo was taken?
