What will they say?

  • Need New Nose

I'm fourteen years old and I've hated my nose for years. My parents have finally agreed to get a consultation and in two weeks we'll be driving down to Victoria BC for a consultation with a very good doctor. I can't stop thinking about what he might say, and I can't imagine why no might be the answer. I know fourteen is a very young age for rhinoplasty but it has been done before, and I'm mentally very mature. Based on my research, I believe your facial structure is at a safe age to have rhinoplasty performed on it two years after your first period, and I had mine three years ago. My height hasn't changed in nearly two years now. What I'm asking is if anyone has any ideas why I might not be able to get this procedure done, since I'm nearly positive I'm physically and mentally eligible for it.

Hi there,

It will be up to the doctor to decide if he or she thinks you're ready. Try to stay positive! And you might want to go on consultations with 2 or 3 rhinoplasty specialists while you're in Victoria so you can get an idea of different approaches a surgeon might take with you. Here's what some doctors say about choosing your rhinoplasty surgeon.

Here's what doctors said to another Canadian 14-year-old wanting rhinoplasty.

Please keep us posted and let us know how your consultation goes!
