I am feeling better for sure. I rested for a few more days before I tried to go out again and I took it very slow. I am standing up straighter now so it helps when walking I don't get as tight. For some reason still the hardest part about standing up straight and the tightness comes from my upper abs near my rib cage. The incision line doesn't bother me at all. I thought it would be opposite.

I was told that it would be about 3 weeks before you are actually able to walk in an upright position. They give you a two week down town, but I think it's more of a four- week down time, because at two weeks you are just over one hurdle. Do you have a lot of swelling? My stomach is still tender, can not cough or sneeze without some discomfort. Some days are better than others.

I am about 3 1/2 weeks out now with no change in swelling at all except first thing in the morning. I still have swelling all the way up over my belly button. Nothing unusual to be concerned with but at this point I would be so happy to just get rid of the swelling above my belly button, it would make me feel like I am progressing. I have a short torso so that makes me wonder if that is why but who knows. I still have a hard time coughing or sneezing. I tried to lay more flat last night to stretch things out and it helped. My dr gave me the ok to at 2 weeks but I have been afraid to try. How far post op are you? Have you seen much progression? I feel so much better energy wise just no improvement with the swelling. I was hoping to slowly star back into exercise the next week or so. I have my next dr appt Wednesday so I am keeping my fingers crossed!;-)

I'm 13 days post. I'm still walking hunched over. My legs/ankles are swelled. My energy is slowly coming back. I here swelling takes time. What kind of binder are you wearing? My dr has me wearing two of them. So I'm just going to take it really slow and hopefully in a month's time I should be in a better place as far as recovery is concerned.

I was wearing just a Velcro binder I got day of surgery for the first 10 days. Then I got my drains out so he had me wearing spanx and the binder for 4 days. Now I am just wearing spanx and it holds me all in but I'll tell you the first week they were a bear to get on. Now I have a system and it is much easier. I knew it would be a long recovery but never realized it would be this tough or maybe I just had the mentality I could get through it no problem. From week 2 to 3 there was a huge change in the way I felt so hopefully that will happen for you too.

How long did it take you to walk without being bent over? Are you still feeling tight. I'm hoping that this will be a turn around week for me. My dr have me wearing 2 binders which are really tight. I took one off for a little while. We are gettongthrough with it but not at the rate we would like.

I am still a little bent over but more at the top of my body, my shoulders are still a little hunched over and I have a lot of pulling due to the muscle repair near my rib cage. I am trying to think about it more and really try to stand up straight. I think I am hunching more out of habit now and being scared to stand up straight. I do still feel tight especially towards the end of the day. I am not really doing a lot either or overdoing things. My hope was for a faster recovery but it is going very slow and I am so bored! When is your next Dr's appt? Hopefully you can take one of the binders off because I know how uncompfortable that is. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
