What is the best scar treatment for a mole removal incision on the forehead?

I had 8 stitches removed two days ago and and still applying Polysporin and keeping it covered until the suture holes heal. The doctor said after a week to apply Mederma but, I want the fastest way to minimize the scar and I know with scars patience is everything. I am taking vitamins A, D, E, Zinc and Iron orally which are supposedly vitamins that help with skin and healing. Any advice on how to care for the scar and keep it as minimized as possible would be greatly appreciated.
