What's the best recovery bra?

By Makenzie on 17 Jan 2012

I'm trying to find a zip-front sports bra for after my surgery, but haven't come across too many results. So far the best option I've seen is the Moving Comfort Women's Grace

post-aug bra

Unfortunately this only has mediocre reviews on Amazon and Nordstrom.

Does anybody have a great bra suggestion for recovery?

Once you buy best bra for sports, it is just a top priority for you to have the perfect dimensions for one's body sort plus your structure. Often get the right dimensions of your respective bust as well as ribcage when you are deciding on a bra. Should you be uncertain, approach an outlet lady since they know precisely how in order to measure anyone in order that you have the ability to figure out the mug size and large bra measurement for your own bust
Love the Champion 1699 Double Dry Zip Tech ... My doctor sent me home in one. Bought two more. Front zip comes in very handy. Can buy at Sports Authority ... Found cheaper at NyLingerie.com. I've been wearing for the last five weeks ... No complaints.

The Sassybax Classic Collection Bralette (no wires) is my favorite. My PS sent me home in a front closure bra with a rather thin band that hurt my inframammary incisions. On day 2, I changed into my Sassybax. It has no hooks or closures, is seamless, and you can step into it and pull it up. Plus the band is wide and soft and doesn't irritate me at all. It's known as the "world's most comfortable bra" and the "back fat eliminator". Their similar bra, the Celebrate Life bra which seems to be the exact same thing, is the the first Medicare approved bra for post mastectomy.

Sassybax isn't the most cost-effective solution at $60 each, but functional and mainstream enough to wear long after surgery.

Thanks so much, Knoxville! I hadn't thought about bras I could step into instead of pullover. I've heard of sassybax before and may have to invest now that I know. Especially the back fat thing is helpful...  My JC Penny bras are great but definitely give me the bulge.

I had tummy too. The twisting to look behind you to back up is just a no go.. I have to drive with my hands at 3 and 9 o'clock. and grive like a old granny shuffeling my hands on the wheel. lol

Speaking of shuffling... I was walking into my doc's office yesterday and my bf started commenting on my shuffling, so I decided I need to make a video of myself walking to the "Everyday I'm shuffling" song that is all over the radio right now. :)

oh that would be great.. HAHA Go for it!

Just breasts. But man am I sore! I can't imagine driving in the next 5 days.

My PS put me in a binder bra. Oh its so flattering :)
But really it is the most comfortable one for the first few weeks! Driving,,,are you JUST getting breast done or are you doing TT too?

Thanks for the feedback! I bought the Amazon one too, but will definitely check out Walmart when I'm well enough to drive to one! I bought a danskin workout sweater there fr $10 3 years ago and it's still in great shape. I wish I could've gone to buy mine after, but my doc is putting me in it the day after surgery. Bought a few sizes just in case !

Hey I BOUGHT the Bra at JC Pennys. I am at 3 weeks post op from lift with implants. The Bra is called Underscore.. Unfortunatly it is not a small, Med, large type bra. BUT it is seamless in the front which is great. it IS comfortable.. I also tried one at Walmart called Danskin, also zip front but I still had stitches in place then so I didnt love it. again it is a cup size bra not SM, MD, or LG. Macys had one I liked but the price was a bit much at $36.. but it was VERY comfortable. it is a Champion zip front and has an adjuster on the side, and good side support.. After my lift and implants I went from 34c to 34D (and that is snug right now, )
I am having a VERY hard time finding a zip front sports bra in that size.. Maybe I will splurge on the Macys one.. BUT YES the JC Pennys one is nice and comfortable! I would NOT buy one untill AFTER surgery, because you dont know if it will fit

Someone recommended on my review page that J.C. Penny's had some -  I went today and they were right! There was one brand, for $17. They seem decent -- nice long zipper with a cover in the back to prevent chafing. One week left til new boobs for me, so I'll come back and review all the bras I bought once I'm wearing them.
