I am planning on a LSL in Jan or Feb. I have been to the Tampa office for my initial consultation. Any regrets or second thoughts? Should I get a second opinion? MJ

I had it done in Tampa and it looks almost like it did before I had it done.  I am having a hard time with the doctor about redoing my neck and chin. Good Luck.

Hi,Gee I thought I was the only person disappointed in this procedure, I also had mine done in Tampa by Dr {edited}. It looked good as long as the swelling was there Now it looks absolutely terrible!! I hate to look at myself in the mirror,i had the eyes upper & lower, jowls, liposuction and neck the eyes did come out good BUT the neck is drooping on the left side I think it looked better before I had this done. I wrote them a letter & have an appt with them on Thurs 8. I would be afraid to let anyone from there do any kind of surgery on ME again. To think I paid all this money 6100.00 for this makes me sick ! I'm still going to have to have this redone by someone else. The commericials for this makes me SICK !

Hi, I had Dr. {edited} do my neck and chin aug.2006.  Looked good for 1st month then it started sagging and my neck got the same wrinkled look it had before i had it done.  on one side it sags down more than the other side.  his response was that it sagged like that before. yikes if that was the case why didn't he correct it when he was doing the procedure??  he said i had to wait till march 2007 and see him again. well, i don't expect anything to be done about my face.  when i saw him a couple months after the procedure he sure didn't sound like anything would be done about it.  and when i called the office he returned my call and he got me very upset as he sounded like nothing would be done about it.  sooo,  even if they did say they would do it again i am afraid to have it done at the same office.  i don't feel comfortable having them cutting into me after the way i have been treated in regards to this matter.  and, i am making payments on $4,400.00 for nothing.

my sister had this done in michigan and when hers sagged down the doctor said no problem and redid it for her.  he is no longer there.  to bad. he got a job somewhere else.  now that is how it should be taken care of for all of us with a problem.

i don't recommend having this done.

Did you ever get your surgery corrected?

I had the LSL at the Tampa facility and I would like to remind everyone who reads this to always do your homework regarding the ability and exxperience of your surgeon. I understand the risk involved with general anesthesia so this was the best procedure for me. My LSL was performed on 12/22/07 by a remarkable surgeon who I checked out thoroughly. Not all surgeons have the same qualifications. Something that might help in chosing the surgeon is find one who is more than a dermatolgist turned plastic surgeon. Find the surgeon who maintains an expertise in the area that reaches beyond skin deep. I hope this helps some of you and so far, I am very happy with my lift. I found that if you follow the post-op directions carefully, you will minimize your problems later. Some of the horror stories I read does not fit my experience at all so do your own research.

I am going for my initial consultation today. I am trying to do the research online, but find incredibly varying results. I do not want to be one of those people who are sagging again 6 months later. Please tell me the name of your doctor as you seem very pleased.

I just joined RealSelf tonight and am interested in your experience at the Tampa LSL facility. Like everyone else, I want a definite result that is long-lasting, and I'm a bit leery about Lifestyle Lift from some of the comments I've read -- minimal improvement, sagging within a month. Your procedure was done last December; are you still happy with the result and would you recommend your doctor? I'd appreciate knowing which of the surgeons did your lift. I'm interested in a necklift, looking to restore a sharp jawline and lose the jowls, as well as get rid of those ugly bands down my neck. Any information about your own experience that you would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated.

I have been considering this procedure and so your comments were very informative. Like you said, to get the best results find an excellent doctor and second follow all instructions given to you. Can you please tell me the name of the doctor in Tampa who did your procedure. Again, thank you for your comments

I went for a consultation and was told that the LSL did not include tighting the muscles under the skin as stated in the advertisment, and that the skin would not be cut but folded over. I was told that the LSL is what use to be a "Mini Lift" and that what I needed was a facelift for the best results. A facelift for $8,400 with a mid face thread lift totaling $9,400. My second option was a LSL for $4,500, with lipo under chin and mid-face thread lift totaling $6,800. While I was having my pictures taken the office manager in which I later found out was the Drs wife told me that I was the perfect candidate (had great skin) for the LSL, but it was different when I got in the Drs. office. I was quoted $4,500 for the LSL but was told it wouldn't last long as it is the old fashioned mini-face lift that was done away with years ago because it didn't last. According to the ad the mini facelift of years ago didn't include the muscles and that is why the new LSL is much better and affordable. I was very discouraged when I left the office. I felt that the whole thing was just a come on to get you in the office and drive up the price. I was also told that the pictures are done up and realistically you will be out of work for a few weeks, which wasn't a problem, but I felt the whole LSL thing was a come on. Good Luck, just don't get your hopes up......as I did. And by the way,I was told that I would need a physical, complete blood work, and a EKG from your family practioner before surgery, I have insurance and have recently had a yearly physical but I am sure my Dr. isn't going to order and EKG just so I can have a LSL........or do blood work, so, another cost.

I just want everyone to check out this site and view ALL the videos. I had a consultation scheduled but I've since cancelled. http://www.nbcsandiego.com/health/10052581/detail.html The video speaks for itself, bad scarring, lumps behind the ears, 30 to 40 shots to numb the area, the area they cut is much bigger then they say. Whew! No thanks, it's not worth it! You may feel the same way when you view the actual procedure on the video. good Luck and I beg you to reconsider.

Has anyone had any comments on the Lifestyle lift performed by Dr. Swerdloff from the Tampa office. The bad things that I have read about that concern me about the LSL are the sutures coming through the skin and the skin drooping not long after the procedure. My understanding is the LSL has been in use for about 8 years. Does anyone know of a person that had a LSL years ago or even a couple of years ago? If so how do they look?

Where are the people who had the lifestyle lift 5 or more years ago?
arnp1 9 Feb 2007
Had a bad experience in Tampa. No one returns calls.Had severe pain post op, would not call in anything stronger for pain.Developed an eye abcess.Tech removed wrong sutures and my skin edges separated.Had to go back to be resutured. This is a retail establishment, not a medical one.

I HAD IT DONE IN MAY 2006 IN THE TAMPA OFFICE. I AM VERY UNHAPPY AND AM SEEKING A REFUND OR LEGAL ACTION. HAS ANYONE HAD ANY LUCK WITH A REFUND
Jean2 (unregistered guest) 28 Feb 2007
Hi Robbie, I had scheduled a Lifestyle Lift with Dr {edited} at the Tampa office for last November. When I met with him I felt I was a number and not a patient which made me feel uneasy and worried about being taken care of in the 'aftermath' of the procedure. I decided to hold off with this - and with some of the stories I have read I am pleased I did! I cancelled this and was told that I would not get a refund without a note from my Dr with a medical reason why I could not have this done. I did suffer from high blood pressure and my Dr wrote me a letter to give them stating this. I faxed them this letter and was told that I would get a refund within about 4 weeks, we will see. I have heard of patients having difficulty with getting money back. Editor note: you must join RealSelf so you can be contacted privately with doctor recommendations and feedback. I am seriously considering having the LSL done in Tampa. Please tell me why you were not pleased with the results. Also approximately how much was the procedure? I understand it will vary per indivudual.

Which doctor did your procedure as I have read here about two different doctors in the Tampa office with quite differing results. What exactly were you dissatisfied with?
MAD AS HELL (unregistered guest) 26 Sep 2007
Robbie, I have not had the surgery done, but I am seeking a full refund. I asked during my consultation if I could get a refund if my health or financial situation changed before the scheduling of surgery. I was told by {edited} that I would be recieve a full refund. My sister and I went on the same day and we are both having trouble getting a refund. We did not see a physican, only the consultant {edited}. I did not know until recently that they don't even have to be plastic surgeons to do the surgery, only need the certificate stating that they are a doctor of something. This means any type of doctor could do the surgery. Not for me, too big of a risk. I was also told be a doctor that a close friend of his was scheduled to have the surgery and when she saw the "operating suite" changed her mind, due to the conditions of the room. Let's just say it was not your average operating room no sparkling walls if you get my drift. I am getting the old phone tag routine with them, I think they are nothing but a rippoff business that takes the money of innocent people who are misled and use high pressure tactics to close the sell. I am not giving up even if it means picketing on Westshore Blvd, or television interviews. Someone needs to make the public aware of the ripoff business they really are! Hi-I had a consultation at the Ft. Lauderdale office last year-I was impressed and even gave a deposit for my proceedure-Well...when the surgery day was getting near,I wondered why they didnt call to confirm. It seems they botched my dates up and I wasnt even scheduled! They were willing to fix it but I could no longer get a room in the area-since it was in the Spring. I was then less than impressed! Now from reading some feedback I'm glad not to have gone through it. Thanks soo much for this site-it was really helpful! dl
