surgery for eye bags

I have suffered with severe eye bags and circles for years and I'm now 58 years old and thoroughly fed up with them. No matter what I do to conceal them nothing works. I just want to find out from other people who have had surgery how successful it was, or any other suggestions. I am finding it is now affecting my life as I don't like looking in mirrors and having photos taken. Any help would be great.
