Softap method

By BelleS on 09 Apr 2012

Has anyone used the Softap method of permanent makeup, and if so, how would you compare it to other methods?  I only know one permanent makeup technician who tried it and said 'it takes too long'

I am undergoing Soft Tap method right now. It takes longer because you will need to return for consecutive applications in order to achieve a natural looking brow. I had almost no eyebrow hair left so my PMUA says it will take at least 3 applications to have the right depth of color. I think it's worth it. This technique gives you more control on your overall shape, placement & color. This can be a down side for those who want instant satisfaction. But if your worried at all about artificial looking permanent make-up, this is the way to go. I have not tried any other techniques so can't make any comparisons. Hope this helps!

Are you a permanent makeup artist or are you trying to research the best method to have done for yourself?

I did a basic course that didn't teach Softap, some say it's less traumatic to the skin and hoped I could get an opinion from those that have learned both methods

We're a community that mainly talks about getting permanent makeup done. There are a few community members who apply it, but chances are slim you will get much response since the majority of our community members aren't familiar with application techniques.

Hi there! I haven't used the SofTap method, but I have seen the results of it first hand for my eyeliner and it was great from a clients' point of view at least. My technician did my upper eyeliner for both eyes in about 40 minutes, which I thought was pretty quick. I was trying to find out how to get my permanent makeup done and as I researched I got cold feet due to being scared of having a tattoo machine that close to my eyes and the pain associated with it, but then I found a Softap technician and the rest was history! Very gentle on my eyes as well.
