How much would a good doctor charge to remove a lipoma lump on my forehead? About two years ago I noticed a soft tissue bump on the right side of my forehead but just got bigger I know its not dangerous but I want it removed.

US doctors rip you off, 2,500 or even 500 US$ to remove a small lipoma is outrageously expensive! I just had a small one removed in a private clinic in Belgium yesterday (3 - 4 cms diameter) and my friendly doc charged me 69 euros or 95 US$. All the best to you!

My doctor used a hole punch type tool to break the skin. Why isn't a scapel used? Seems this would make for a easier and cleaner stich. Also I was told only 1 removal per visit?

I recently had a lipoma removed from the back of my neck. The cost to have it done as an outpatient in a local hospital,by a plastic surgeon was $500. in Canada. I felt very little pain and had the stitches removed in the surgeons office a week later. Yes Anerica socialized medicine works, but we pay for elective surgery.

I have epidural lipomatosis of the lumbar spine and though I have read many articles about this, I have concerns about just physical therapy. The latter was a 2nd opinion for the therapy. My first orthopedic surgeon was going to do a laminectomy, and did not have any notice of the epidural lipomatosis, by MRI. A myelogram was done which showed the tumor but I read that the typical test was just MRI.

If the lipomas cause you pain, your insurance company will pay for a general surgeon to excise them. I just got seven more taken out this week but I don't know the cost yet.

I have had a couple of lipomas removed in my general practioner's office. Insurance should cover the first one to ensure it's not cancerous. For others to be covered, they have to be causing pain or other medical problems. Otherwise, they are probably not covered.

I went to see the doctor and talked to the insurance provider as well and they both said that lipoma removal will NOT be covered by insurance since it is a purely cosmetic procedure.

Hi, I also live in Southern California. Can you please tell me the contact information of the surgery doctor your friend used. I need to get them removed in a week or two.
