Good to know I though the swelling was supposed to be gone after a year? Does that mean it will always come back when you eat sodium?

My surgeon told me at least 18 months before the swelling would stop

As for the feeling of blah I promise you will feel more like yourself around the 4-6 month. I fell into a dewp depression with not being happy with my results. I have very little support and was very upset for a while. I am now very pleased with the results I love my new body and am now happy that I took this step

Hi ladies. I was wondering if any of you thought your scar seemed to lower a bit once the swelling subsided?

hi, i have a beach trip planned for around 4 months after a FTT/lipo. just wondering what to expect since u ladies are around that mark in recovery? will i be fine for a 9 hr road trip? still alot of swelling?

I just had my 4 month check up (sept 13 was my surgery date...I had a full tummy tuck and a total hysterectomy). I personally feel great! I am back to running on average 6-9 miles a week and do insanity 6 days a week and zumba 2 days a week. Swelling comes and goes but it is very minimal (always just above my belly button) not painful or uncomfortable just kinda annoying. From my experience, I think you will be just fine for a beach trip =)

MizVandy! So glad I came and read this. I have the same procedures sceduled for Feb 12! How was your swelling? That was something I read could be more of a problem, since we have more swelling to expect from the Hysterectomy? Did you keep your ovaries? How has your mood been?? Thanks in advance and sorry for the 20 questions. :)

I actually had to keep reminding myself I had a hysterectomy lol bc there was no pain or swelling in the area. I kept my ovaries, so no real mood issues. the swelling is almost nonstop for about 8 weeks..i would notice it if I stood too long and did too much, but after about 4 weeks I really felt very good. I travled by plane from here in TX to Spokane Wa at just 3 1/2 weeks post op and it wasn't that bad. I wore my band for 2 weeks then switched to tight fitting camis afterwards and worse those for about another 2-3 weeks and haven't had any issues since. =) If you have any other ??'s feel free to contact me any time!

You all are a wealth of info! I am exactly 6-weeks post-op. I am wondering when can you start to exercise and how did you do it? I think I am ready for some power-walking...maybe? Also, is it normal to still have some swelling and a "soft" tummy at this point?
