Very sensitive skin

By Nicluc on 06 Mar 2013

HI i had my surgery 18 days ago, everything is fine and healing well. However the skin all over my breasts is super sensitive, it is also quite dry and flaky, I am using moisturiser for this. Has anyone else experienced similar and how long did it last?

I am having horrible sensitivity issues. Am 15 days post off. I too feel like a bad sunburn, redness combines with itchy areas. Did not help having a reaction to paper tape..ugh Is it ok to use oils or lotions?

Hi. My skin has been very sensitive. At about the two week mark I began having discomfort that felt like a very bad sunburn across the top and sides of my breasts...it was even difficult to wear clothes for any length of time. I was told that this is not abnormal and that the nerve endings (which had been stretched) were in the process of healing. I found that doing a light circular massage on the uncomfortable areas as well as alternating back and forth between ice (in a pillow case) and heat every five to ten minutes helped to desensitize my skin. I also took a B complex supplement (promotes nerve healing) and St. Johns Wort (helps with nerve pain) which I believe really helped speed the process along. I felt much better in a few days and though I have some of this sensitivity and discomfort on and off and am still wearing only smoother fabrics, I have noticed it tends to preceded a numb area waking up. Though quite uncomfortable at times I have discovered this sensitivity is a positive sign of healing. Better for everything to come back to life sooner than later. I am currently at 6 weeks post op and still take 2 Aleve if I get too uncomfortable. Hope this helps.

I am 6 1/2 weeks post op. I love my boobs, but am so miserable!! I need someone to guide me if this is just the way it goes sometimes? I have constant dull pain, random shooting pain (which I know is to be expected), super sensative to have anything touch or rub against boobs, feels like weights are tied to my breasts when I sit up, throbbing pain, & any sort of jiggle/bounce just kills me. What is going on? My ps put me on antiinflamatory & saito give it a week to kick in. Tomorrow is a week & I feel no relief whatsoever. I want to scream.
