I have been using Skin Medica scar gel, does anyone know what the best Scar treatment is for the breast area? Skin Medica product was highly recommended to me by my doctor.

I SWEAR by silicone strips! You don't have to buy the pricey name brand ones that your surgeon might try to sell you. You can buy them at Walmart or any drug store. I wear them 24 hrs a day unless I go out for the evening or am showering still today, 4 months post op. They make a tremendous difference in the healing and appearance of your scars! Without them my incision scars are bright red and itch at times. After I wear them you can barely even see my scars at all! It is amazing stuff! They are reusable and last for a long time as well.

Thanks! I for the past 3 mo I have been using Scar Away silicone strips, I got them from Bed Bath and Beyond. I think they are working. I see the scars fading away. Before that I was using Bio Corneum cream (pricey, bought at Dr. Office). I am 6 mo post op. I wear the strips almost 24 hrs a day, so hopefully soon I won't be able to see the scars as well. Thanks for your comment!!

My doctor recomended NewGel scar management silicone strips. I've had a few other people recommend them. As a nurse who has worked for a surgeon ~ they will recomend whatever drug rep is bribing them the best ~ so all though he may have recommended medica I think your smart by keeping your options open.
