Any Rhinoplasty surgeons in Adelaide, South Australia?

Has anyone had any Rhinoplasty procedures in Adelaide? I cannot find any reviews or referrals for surgeons. If I can't find anyone in SA, I will have my consultation with Dr Shahidi in Sydney, based on the positive feedback I have researched. If anyone has any recommendations, please help!

Hi there! I am in a similar position to you - weighing up the costs of getting a rhino in Sydney rather than Brisbane where I live. I did a lot of googling trying to find surgeons and Brisbane and although some had great reviews, none were specific to rhinoplasties. I don't feel that a surgeon, who may be great at breast augmentations, will be just as great at rhinoplasties. This made me start looking elsewhere and I came across Dr. Shahidi. I have decided to fly to Sydney for a consultation with him next week (already cost me $350 for mine and bf's flights). It is definitely added cost but I can barely find a bad review on him and I like that he specialises in rhinos, has a lot of publications and does teachings. I would love to stay in Brisbane and recover in the comfort of my own home but I don't want to risk it! Let us know what you decide :)

Hello Claudia6, sorry I never received a notification that you emailed! How did your appointment with Dr Shahidi go? I found a surgeon in Adelaide. I weighed up the costs going back and fro, and possible future appointments just in case something went wrong and wasn't in my price range. What did you decide on? I am having surgery in September :)

Hi there, i am also in Adelaide and have had a 1st consult with a PS at APSA for a revision Rhinoplasty, I too cannot find any reviews for the PS,s consulting at the clinic although i have read 2 amazing reviews which have greatly lifted my spirits!! I have also recently read a couple of reviews from people who have had disastrous results (nearly put me off) so i have decided not to do that anymore! I mean is it too much to pray for a normal nose in this day of amazing technology? (positive thoughts only) I am booked for a second consult with my surgeon next week, 20th March and am pencilled in for surgery on the 29th April...Yiiikes, if i don,t chicken out that is. Let me know how you go.

Hi! I have my consultation with PS next week! Is that who you went with or did you choose another surgeon? It is such a HUGE risk, but I think anything will be better than the nose I have now haha! Did you read 2 bad reviews about PS or was it a general rhino review? Good luck I will check in with you too :)

Hi Sarsay - getting to Sydney and all your follow ups may be a pain and quite costly. In saying that, this is the centre of your face and you don't want to make any compromises! I had rhino with Dr Shahidi and i would highly recommend him! I am 6 months post op and although I still have swelling, I'm loving my nose more and more every week. All the best and good luck!

Many thanks! I have a consultation next week in Adelaide. If I get a great vibe, I may just stay in Adelaide as you're right -it can cost a lot of money travelling back and fro! Thanks again for your feedback :)

Hey - thanks for your comment :) I was also considering flying out to sydney for my rhino as per a recommendation from one of the Doctors at Lasertech. After going through with the rhinoplasty here in adelaide, i would definitely recommend staying in the state if you can find a surgeon you're really happy with. The reason I say this is becuase you'll be scheduled several follow up appointments with your surgeon - like a 7 day follow up to remove your cast, and 3 months etc. Entirely up to you of course, but you'll definitely save a bit of money if you can stay in adelaide, plus I found it really nice to recover in the comfort of my home sweet home. I highly recommned Dr. Sylaidis - he is very professional and extremely attentive to even the finest details of your potential rhinoplasty. Initial consultation is held at APSA, in the Adelaide Day Surgery building on North terrace. Consultation cost is $160 - but you can claim a medicare rebate for a percentage of that - in the consult Dr. Sylaidis will make a 3D image for you so you can see the changes you are wanting applied to your face, i found it really interesting as not all plastic surgeons have the equipment to do this. I'm so glad you found my review helpful - if there is anything at all you would like to ask me about rhinoplasty, please just post me a comment. All the best :)

Totally agree - working out costs for accommodation and flights back and forth would be too costly, and like you, would love to rest at home and have family look after me! Did Dr Sylaidis tell you when you can go back to exercising? I am a gym freak and am aware that I may need at least a month off - due to the swelling. I will definitely keep updated with your progress and see photos and your ups/downs. It is such a huge decision! Thanks heaps for your response :)

Thats a great question! I was told to wait a good two weeks after surgery before attempting any exercise - i think this is because you don't want to increase your blood pressure while your wounds are healing, or you may end up having a nasty nose bleed. If the gym is a crucial part of your regime i'm sure you could discuss that in your consultation, you may have to wait up to six weeks at the longest before working out like full on cardio - but i'd say you could probably get away with some light exercise after the first two weeks, like light cardio, weights etc.

Yes, I'm very much into fitness - hard cardio and weights :( but if i have to wait a month or two, so be it! Rather a new nose. Exercise can wait a bit :) How are you going post op? Any photos? Thanks for all the advice :)

Have you found anyone to consult with? RealSelf is just getting more members from Australia and I'm hoping we'll get more and more feedback from your corner of the world soon. I know it's not specifically what you asked for, but here's a list of questions for your consultations. Hope it helps!
