Hi everyone! I have a question about getting back into life after the surgery. So I have this wedding coming up (not mine of course) but of one of my bf's best friends and its a huge affair (- we are talking jewish -israeli 400 guests wedding) anyway this wedding is monday night and I am not supposed to take the cast off until tuesday.. Also it would be the first time out with my new nose and there would be so many people to talk to.. How are your experiences with such events /moments? any thoughts to what I should do?

If your cast doesn't come off until Tuesday, then do you plan to attend the wedding with it on on Monday? I've read about a lot of people covering up remaining bruises with thick concealer and pretending like nothing happened. Most people won't notice you did anything.

Hi ;) the make up is a good idea! I'll buy some more concealer to use in the first days. I decided not to go to the wedding, and keep my cast on until tuesday, like my doctor said.

Hi everyone! I am just a few day after treatment but its driving me crazy already: what do you do about the hair?! I cant wash it and I am already about to shave my head clean!! - any ideas dearest support group? ; )

Perhaps a dry shampoo? Which I've never actually used but sounds like the best option!

Maybe you can have somebody help you wash your hair in a sink, much like they do in hairsalons :) i did it when i had my cast on and it worked well...

go to a hair salon and ask them to wash it or sk your mom or keep a headband on

Thank you!! these are good ideas! since I have healed a lot now I can actually wash it more or less regularly if I am careful not to get the cast wet;)

How was the dry shampoo? Does it work well? If so I'm definitely going to get some...

It is the best investment ever. I am a bit embarrassed to say that I didn't wash my hair for about 4 days straight ( i did shower though;)) but with the dry shampoo the hair just doesn't look oily so when it is pulled up you cant even tell its not freshly washed. I guess ideal is to use it to extend the fresh look for one day but desperate times call for desperate measures ; ) also its really easy to apply.

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to have mine at the end of October and haven't scheduled yet. I was wondering, how far in advance did you schedule? Excited for all of you!

hi Mati, my doctor told me to schedule about 8 weeks in advance in order to be sure to get the date you want but I guess its different for each doctor. I needed it to be tomorrow in order to book flights etc. so I scheduled about three months in advance; ) Good luck to you

Hi Mati. I found that having a while between my consultation and surgery gave me time to mentally prepare. I really think this has helped me. I was offered a date in July (first consult in April where i was only considering the idea of a nose job) but it was too soon for me and I didn't want to feel rushed. Taking my time (5 months) has made this a lot easier for me as I have mentally prepared, so just make sure you don't get excited and rush it :)

Hi Mati, i think the sooner you schedule the better. I scheduled mine 4 weeks in advance, i think the more you wait the more nervous you get so once you are sure you want to really go ahead and do it, just pick any date. I have found that the long waiting wears you down the more, so you just want to get it over with. Good luck and be brave! :)

Thanks Amy, I'll probably do mine about 6 weeks in advance. I already know when what my ideal date is. Yay Good luck to you!

Just goes to show that everyone is different. Also finding 2 weeks off in life can sometimes only happen once a year, so sometimes we don't have a choice when we book :) Good luck

Exactly! It's so hard to find the time. If I don't do it that week, I don't have another chance until June and honestly just don't want to wait that long. I've been thinking about this for so many years!

It's such a personal choice. If you book now you have 7-8 weeks to mentally prepare. You're the only one that can know if that's enough. Do what feels right and your listen to your gut because that's what knows!
