Has anyone had revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Spencer Cochran

Hello, I am looking into Dr. Spencer Cochran for a third and very complicated revision. I haven't found too many actual revision patients of his and I was wondering if anyone on here has gone to him for a revision? I am extremely nervous about this next surgery and I just want to make sure that I get it right this time. Thanks.

I had revision with Cochran last week. He was awesome. Mine was a small revision but I researched and found him to be the best. Another plastic surgeon refused to work on me and recommended Cochran. I am extremely pleased with the result. I did get sick from the anesthesia and had some drug complications afterward, but Cochran's nurse was able to figure out what I needed to do over the phone. And she was right. I am extremely satisfied. One thing is so important. Communication. Dr. Cochran did the 3D digital imagery of me during the consultation and showed me what he intended to do. But, I also brought selfies with me and showed him exactly what I needed. When I saw him at the surgery center the day of my surgery, he knew who I was, what I wanted and how he was going to do it. I think us girls sometimes leave too much to the Dr. to decide. We need to communicate better so they understand exactly what we want. And then remind him again before the surgery.

That's great; I'm so glad everything went well. Did he also do your primary or did you have another surgeon? What is it that he fixed? Would you consider creating a revision review so we can have more details and maybe even some photos? Thank you

Hi all, Sorry I haven't been active on this thread. I never had surgery with Dr. Cochran and I'm no longer considering him. I really appreciate all of the responses on this topic though and apologize again for not being acitve, but I stopped considering him awhile ago. Right now I'm trying to decide between Dr. Davis, Dr Guyuron, Dr. Shah and Dr. Boahene for a revision.

Makemeheel,my experience with dr Cochran is similar to yours .. Too aggressive , he ruined my nose , I went in for what was supposed to be a simple primary , my nose was botched , it s a nightmare , his ppl were not as nice as before surgery , to m trying to find a good surgeon to fix the mess he has created on my face ..

Oh my god, I had a primary with dr Cochran and the outcome is bad , he didn t like it himself so he offered a revision , he said he will do his best to fix it . My nostrils , tip are collapsed . Nose smaller and pinched. I had an infection and now my breathing is bad . I liked how he is willing to help but sooo confused now :(:(

I am in tears right now after reading all of these messages . I am sooo confused .. I didn t even need rhino to begin with .. I wanted subtle changes .. And the outcome is everything I didn t want . It s too small pointy and retracted ,,, dr Cochran said he would do his best .. He is a specialist, he was confident he could fix it .. But again you never know , just the idea of going under the knife again is terrifyi

Terrifying , I feel hopeless lost and very scared , I had no idea that it could turn out that bad , I have million of questions that I want to ask dr Cochran . But once I m in his office I just brk up on tears and lose focus , I ve seen him twice since my primary to discuss revision , I m from Morocco so every time I go see him with my family for moral support it cost us around 10 thousand dollars just on travel expenses !! That s close to 20 K just on travel expense :( so it s not the free revision that I am interested in , I really thought he can help me and give me my nose and my life back:(

Anyone can write good or bad things on these sites anonymously. I take everything I read with a grain of salt unless the source has proved, beyond a reasonable doubt, they are genuine. There is not one doctor that has 100% happy patients, meaning that in my opinion, Dr. Cochran is going to be hard to beat. He is very experienced in Rhinoplasty, but as with all surgeries, carry risks. Don't despair, just keep doing your research and you'll get this figured out. I know how you feel as I ended up with something entirely different than what I asked for plus I lost the functionality of my nose....try your best to stay calm. Good luck to you.

Hi Dianne, no not yet. I am still saving money and have not even consulted with Cochran or anyone out of my area. I had 2 local consults and they are both for much more money than I have (even though insurance coves some of it). At some point, I hope to be able to travel and consult others and find who is the best fit for me. When I am able to get a revision, I'll be sure to start a new review. To me, the second time around is much scarier. I was too naive the first time to know better. I hope that you're doing better. Take good care.

You are taking the right approach. It would be the third for me! Because of it, I am thinking about letting it go. A revision is more complicated and results are harder to predict. I hope some day we are able to use septum cartillage stem cell repair to avoid so many complication moving cartilage from other areas. Until then, I will have to learn to live with this nose. :(

Hi Mariposa, I am sorry that you've had to go through two unsuccessful rhinoplastys. One has been devastating to me and can't imagine how heart-breaking its been for you. You're right...the chances for success are often reduced with each surgery. What a concept "stem cell septum cartilage." That would be great to have something that didn't warp, absorb, and require that we cut up other parts of our body. Best of luck to you...I hope it works out for you.

I had the worst surgery and experience of my life with him! Please, Please, Please avoid this doctor. I literally almost died because he was too aggressive in cartilage and bone removal and my skin lost blood supply and draped sideways. My nose healed crooked and I looked like a monster afterward (still do) and all he could do afterward was have the same "nice guy" smile he had on his face during my initial consultation, and brush me off to his abusive and dismissive staff. I was horrified, embarrassed, and a complete victim of malpractice.I also talked to another one of his patients that had a surgery nightmare. We compared stories and the patient's details were so similar to mine. There are a lot of his mistakes, trying to heal and looking like jigsaw puzzles walking around. Do Not Fall for the "nice guy" act, he will burn a hole through your pocket and ruin your life.

Good luck, he ruined my whole face, he relied too much on imaging and not on what I really wanted, my nostril collapsed and my nose was twisted up.

Hi, did you have surgery? i am also considering this doctor. Would you share your experience?

Yes I have. I did a primary rhinoplasty with Dr Cochran. I am very pleased with my results! Be sure to clear your schedule for the first week and have someone help you. It's very difficult the first week of recovery. To be honest, I am much more comfortable with my new look. It's very natural but not perfect. As humans it's in our nature to notice the flaws in ourselves that others would never notice. So keep in mind that you will look beautiful after the surgery even if you don't feel it! I still notice minor flaws in my nose but no one else notices it, but overall, I look much better than before!

Hello, I'm in the same situation as you. Third rhinoplasty and very complicated situation. I would like to know if you had surgery with this doctor. I'm really scared and I do not know who I can operate. And is that all surgeons have bad reviews. If anyone can help me, please? Forgive my mistakes, I'm Spanish speaking.
