Has anyone had revision eyelid/midface surgery with Dr Steinsepir?

I have had a failed midface lift 4.5 years ago, which caused an entropion and retraction. I have had around 6 corrective procedures including hard palate grafts. I am left with assymetry and hollowing. Anyone had success with the above doc?

Hi Sharon

We did put this individual in touch with a patient who travels from a part of the world not far from ernurse.

Consultations for repairing the damaged midface and lower eyelid after cosmetic surgery are expensive because I typically spend 2-4 hours personally talking to the individual in this circumstance, doing a very through oculoplastic examination which includes a detailed anatomic assessment and measurements, reviewing operative reports and prior photographs. At the end of this lengthy process, I discuss with the individual precisely what is going on and the options for addressing the issues. The office typically applies the cost of the consultation to surgery. These situations are always complex particularly as most of my patients have typically had several prior surgical corrections.

The goal is not just to talk about what needs to be done to fix a situation. A lot of education is done to help the individual understand their options and the emotional effects of the trauma they are experiencing.

Most patients tell me that their original surgeons spent less than 5 minutes on their initial eyelid consultations which may explain why the surgical outcome was unsatisfactory.

I would like to streamline the process to make it more affordable but I have not found a way to do this without compromising communications. Sometimes I will also have individuals back for several visits as part of the initial consultation before I am completely comfortable with a surgical plan. The necessary level of detail is beyond the experience of most individuals and this makes it hard for some to understand why the consult can be so expensive. Fortunately, many do understand and are grateful for the care they receive. Many have traveled half way around the world to consult with me.

Individuals do come to the office to discuss Botox, fillers, or primary surgery such as eyelid surgery with no prior eyelid work and are provided free consultations. Even these discussions can be time consuming but are not nearly as complex as what is needed when someone has been destroyed by prior cosmetic eyelid surgery.

I also volunteer my time at one of the County Hospitals in Los Angeles and have done so for the past 14 years providing care to Los Angeles County residents who lack health insurance and financial resources to pay for medically necessary eyelid and orbit surgery. While not every one can afford to have care in my private office, no one is ever turned away from my County Hospital clinic because of an inability to pay.

I think you will find that Dr S is quite expensive...however he also sounds really good. I am keen to talk to anyone who has had surgery with him, particularly revision surgery.

My God, I have the same problem. I was botched in Hungary - 2 months ago I went to Dr. Joschi (London) for a consultation, I am unable to afford his op-fee... (For the consultation I had to pay 240 pounds...) I would glady to have more info about Dr. Steinsapir...

Hi ernurse,

Thanks for posting your question. I couldn't find any reviews for Dr. Steinsapir, unfortunately. :( I noticed you're in Australia; would you be coming over just for surgery?

If you get in touch with Dr. Steinsapir directly, he may be able to put you in touch with some of his former patients. It's worth checking out.

Good luck!
