Anyone have any reviews about tummy tucks at teaching hospitals?

I need a tummy tuck badly! Im sure everyone thinks they do but I really do! The problem... same as most NOT ALOT OF MONEY. I am trying to find as many people as I can who have had tummy tucks or any kind of surgery in teaching hospitals, preferably in New York.  I had a consult at Lenox Hill last year but the surgeon is not longer their so I would just like a general opinion from any/everyone. Thank you! I hope to hear from someone soon.

Teaching Hospitals in NY.  This may get you started.

I had a full tummy tuck with muscle repair at KU Med here in Kansas City and my total cost was $4200. As I'm sure you know, that's a fraction of what other people are paying. I saved up for several months and then used part of our income tax return and was able to pay cash. I had 4lbs of tissue removed due to an 86lb weight loss and 5 kids. My surgeon was wonderful and the head of plastic surgery was in on the procedure and was the consulting doctor on all my care. I need to have my flanks revised due to the extent of my weight loss (not doctor error) and would only consider going back to the same doctors. I had a great experience and wouldn't have been able to get the surgery otherwise.

Hi Amanda, I live in the Bronx but had my full tummy tuck with muscle repair in NJ, life 25 mins away from me with a Dr.Capella.

I cant wait until you have your consult. At jacobi/north central you already know I did mine on Monday and Tasha did hers last yr and my husbands cousin wife did hers there 3 hrs ago.

Hi ladies after reading another blog I saw that Jacob did someone tummy tuck for $2100! I got so excited I make my consultation for 1/31/12........ I can't wait but they said it's $195 for the consultation but all I want to is it really that cheappppppppp" and would they be able to give me a appointment ASAP and any advice on the whole process....thanks in advance ladies

Yes it is 2100 bc i did mine 4 wks ago but apparently they had raised it to 4600.00 as of april. When i had my consult in march it was s 2100. If u look at my pictures i posted they did an amazing job and the whole experience was awesome. My cousin did hers 3 yrs ago and another realself sister did hers last yr. U can loom her up her name is simonejoan.
I have no complaints love how low and straight she did my incision and i was back at work week 3. I just posted here on realself my week 4 postop pics check them out.

Im on the same boat as u reshea. trying to find a place that is not so expensive. I have a consultation coming in lenox hill tomorrow have to pay 50. so I want to book more appointments to compare. Where are u in ur process?

i when to lenox hill the saff is so nice, it clean, i am having a tummy tuck, breast lift and minor lipo and it costing me a wopping $4500......i cant wait

When are u having it done? I still havent gone to consult because I know they r gonnna tell me I have to loose weight. I am 5'4 and weigh 165 Iknow they r gonna tell me to loose bout 15lbs which will bring my bmi to normal range. Good luck

Pink Indigo, when is your surgery? I am having a tt done at Mt. Sinai. I'm also having an arm lift done.

Beth231976, Mt. Sinai has a Resident's Clinic so the surgery is very affordable, 4K.

I was going for a panniculectomy.. My insurance covered that part. But my surgeon knew I wanted different results, so he suggested I have an abdominoplasty done. At first he was charging $5000,then he knocked it down to half.

Hi everyone, I had a consultation last year at Lenox Hill and for a Tummy Tuck and lipo it was about $3200. I have met 2 people on here that have had TT at Jacobi/North Central Bronx hospital and they look good! I have a consultation there in March and its $195 for the consultation, I believe Lenox Hill is less then Jacobi but I am not sure which one I will end up having my surgery at. Decisions lol well good luck to everyone please everyone keep in touch on here as I will do the same!

Hi ladies,
I have a consultation schedule for Feb.27th for a TT at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary it's a Post graduate fellowship program (teaching Hospital). The range is from $2000-4200..My girlfriend has a brazilian butt lift back in december and she recommended her surgeon to me...i also wanted to go to lenox hill but it seems that they are booked up for months..Best of luck to all of you and i will keep you guys posted!!!
