Seriously considering reduction surgery

By Sister2theRain on 08 Dec 2011

I'm 23, 5'7'' and a bit overweight. I've had big boobs as long as I can remember and for years have been stuffing them into 38H's... but I can't really do that anymore and I should probably be wearing something bigger. They also sag way more than Id like I have horrible back and shoulder pain and its difficult to find shirts or nice clothes that actually fit me well, and aren't ridiculously expensive(same with bras)  I have been trying to lose weight for the last 6 months hoping it would help. I have lost some weight, but none of it in the boob area, I've lost it all in my waist/stomach and hips. It is so hard to get the exercise I would like because of the pain and, well, they get in the way of everything! I'm trying to look at all my options but it seems like breast reduction surgery is really the only one. Help?

I had my reduction before I lost my weight and that's what motivated me to drop the pounds.

Once the breasts are taken down to a comfortable size exercise is pretty easy.  I did drop a cup size with the weight loss so be prepared for that.  I have no regrets and would do it all over again.

It sounds like you're a great candidate for breast reduction surgery, which is often covered by medical insurance. Congrats on your weight loss, but I'm sorry it's not coming off your breasts.

You might want to start by scheduling consultations (which may be free, especially if you mention RealSelf, check when you call) with at least three board certified plastic surgeons to see what your options are.

Good luck and please keep us posted!

I'm working on getting medical insurance again..having some issues. But I think I will try to schedule some consultations. I will definitely remember to mention RealSelf when I do!
Thanks for replying! :)
