Recliner rentals?

By teachermom27 on 23 Apr 2011

Hello everyone. I am new to Realself and I must say this site is a Godsend. I am very private and it is so wonderful to have all of you to talk to and to read your posts. My MM is scheduled for July 11, 2011. I am 45 and very excited. I have 2 children, 17 and 14. I also have lost a great deal of weight (this time the right way- who knew that exercise and eating right would actually work). i notice that many of you talk about sleeping in a recliner. I don't own a recliner so I was wondering if anyone used a rental service. Do you recommend this? Thanks.

Great question! I've heard of others renting hospital beds, but never recliners. Hopefully some ladies will chime in and give you their input on this.

Congrats on your weight loss! Sounds like you did it in a very healthy way. I truly hope your mommy makeover gives you the new bod you're hoping for.

I am renting mine through Rent-a-Center. It is about $100/month for an electic recliner with lift.

do you have a pic or exact name? how is it working out for you ? do you think you could have gone a different route that works just as well for cheaper?

I am renting one from gosouthernmd. The cost is $250.00 for two weeks (not cheap, I know). If you go on the website they not only have a picture but also a video showing the chair with a person demonstrating the different positions. You might want to check the other rental suggested-it is more affordable. Many ladies also said they used lots of pillows and went without the recliner.(By time I received the post from Phoenix830, I had already paid for and arranged the other rental.)Good luck.

I am renting an electric lift recliner. That is what people on this site recommended.

Hi.
Where did you get it?

I believe like quality rentals. My husband did it for me and had it ready when I got home from the surgery. I think its a must. When I was at my moms, I strained my abs alot getting up and down in hers!

So glad I got a recliner rental. It is really comfortable and lifts me with ease. I can sleep in it with no problem and I am not separated from my family.

I bought my recliner on craigslist.com and I will sell it afterwards...so technically..it was free :)
