Hello everyone, I am new here. I had a facelift/necklift three weeks ago. I chose my doctor carefully and have no regrets about him.I did a lot of reading and prepping before the surgery -- I planned it for nearly three years. I had all the proper discussions with my doctor. But no amount of reading or talking prepared me for the reality of healing. My face is still tight with swelling, and I look fake. The right side is more swollen and hard than the left, and so my smile is lopsided. I cannot raise my right eyebrow. I have been told this is all temporary, because sensory nerves had to be cut, but those regenerate. But when? The right side of my neck looks beautiful, but the center and left side are all scabby and red. The various incisions in my scalp (behind the ear, into the hairline, the two spots where the drains we inserted) are stiff and tight and scabby and very uncomfortable.Worst of all, my hair is falling out. I know this is a common phenomenon that occurs after the body has endured a shock to the system and the hair goes into an extended resting phase. I have read that it is not permanent and it stops and reverses itself in time. But for now, my once thick and beautiful hair is lying limp as a dishrag and looking thin. Washing my hair is a traumatic experience. And I can't put any product in it or blow it out, because of all the healing going on.I did this procedure to look a bit younger and feel better about my face, and I've never felt so unattractive. I'm depressed and scared. Please, people who have been through this, tell me it gets better! Thank you...
