Hi Leelee if you look for delaranch comments she has developed reumathoid arthritis after ha... so she is also convinced this stuff develops immunitary reactions.... i have a very localized reaction but also cleoo in canada developed a neuralgia from hyaluronic acid... go check tehir massages!!!!

Does anyone notice a connection between injections and subsequent join pain? I've been getting hyalronic acid fillers for a few years and I have been suffering from joint pain. At first I only had the pain for a week or so after the injection, starting a couple days after. The doctor assured me there could be no connection to the Restalyn. Four years later I have developed osteoarthritis. I am in my 40s with no arthritis in my family. I continue to notice a definite pattern of searing joint pain, especially in my fingers, starting 2 days or so after the injections. Until I found this forum, I have trusted the expert assurances that h-acid fillers are "natural," produced by our bodies and could not have this effect on me. Does anyone else doing fillers get joint pain?

Dear lil and erika i have also known delaranch in another discussion of this forum, she had as well our symptoms, well she has totally recovered after 3 years!!! Simba or better erika, you should be close! Lil we are at the beginning maybe but she said she was having big improvements after one year, year and a half! So this situation is terrible but there is hope to get better, it won't last forever!! I have been crying so many times, i am used to be strong at work with people but this suffering has devastated me psicologically i have fear to go out with friends cause i can feel not good and not be very nice as a company, i have fear during my meetings at work cause i am not at my 100% (well i am more at a 50%), i am scared with my husband cause he is so patient when i get desperate about my condition and tell him i can't anymore. I am scared with doctors cause they don't want to treat me anymore despite i am still in pain. But i know that some day we will have all solved our problems and maybe since we are in fantastic places we will organize a trip to meet each other and we will be happy and free from this terrible story, finally! I hope we get better, we have too, all stories about hacid fillers end up with a solution, it goes out, slowly but it goes out someday!!!

Dear Lil I see you so much!!!! 8 months and I am still sick and swallen. I have been making many analyses but the end is that they did not see anything severe despite i am so swollen and I don't have medicines to help my miserable condition. I tought to be in good hands with the doctors that were following me but now i am so sad and with no hope. I am scared that this thing will last forever but what worries me much is that i need to have some medicine as i am getting really nervous of this pain and swelling to hold with no help. I had reserved for hyaluronidase last week and when i was there he refused to do it. He said i was better (indeed i was that day but some others is a tragedy). So i am wondering what can i do, to be better. Simba is our hope cause despite she is still sick she now is better... you know what, i still have all this stuff in my cheeks, i feel it is not out at all!!!! Tell me something.. did you have hyaluronidase? When did you have it? was making you better or nothing changed? sorry just to know if can be a solution... I am really thinking to go to US if i cannot have any solution here in italy. Let's get in touch it is really important to support each other:-) A big hugg

I am still at the first stage, it is just 5 months and I feel that it will be very very long.... I still feel all the material under my skin it is like a rubber! And the swelling goes up and down any single day :-) Incredible... it has changed my life!

Did you have some improvement with hyaluornidase??? I am so skeptical about it but i have alwyas hope this story could be fastly interrupted with this enzime...

Thanks for your information about the clinics in Italy, I have read that Italy is a country that have this clinics in Europe but I have never found out were the are in Italy, I have read in Rome, is that correct?
You describe it so well...alien under the skin, I am so sorry you and I have this terrible reaction to this hyaluronic acid they say it is safe. It can not be safe when they use bdde in it, I find that after I got the filler and bdde is extremly reactive. They say it is ppm levels( million level) but how can we know that, and how can we know that they have cleaned out the filler so other toxic agents are not there? I am still suffer after 2 and a half years from bieffects so there is for sure something still in my skin.

Mine reaction started 10 days after with swelling hardening, and worked liked a slow wave going from one side to the other, clearly an autoimmun response.

I run to the clinic in my town and they just say, you cant not have this reaction to restylane, YES YOU CAN. But I found out that my doctor had strong unobjective realationship to Q-med(the makers of restylane)Sweden is very small...

When people say that hyaluronic acid fillers are the safest, that they are hymmunologically safe, this is not true. I am having a reaction to Glytone Hyaluronic acid fillers and it has been devastating. I live in Italy and my reaction started after 20 days from my injection. I made the nasolabial folds and started to have my derma swallowing and hardening... a terrible sensation I didn't think could exist like having an alien in the skin. However, in Italy there are some centres from fillers damages and a very very specialized doctor who try to help you with very accurate analysis, firs ecography than MRI with contrast to detect the material finally if an infection is suspected a shintigraphy to detect your antibodies if there are on the filler loco and try to see if it is infection or immunitary response. Simba I think you could give it a try since you live in Europe. I have been trough this for 6 months but discovered this departement of the hospital just from one month so I am still under diagnosis and need to do the mri on monday. I don't know if it is a slow infection (the famous biofilm) or an immune response (the famous bdde). However if it is an infection simple antibiotics do not help there is an international protocol with a very strong teraphy. I knew a woman who had swollen face for 2 years, after dental practice, he had polilactic acid and the dental infection incapsuled her filler. She finnaly recovered after this protocol and shintigraphy with specific marker to detect the infection. Hope this can help....Gloria

Well it has not completely cleared up but it is a lot better. It took 1 year!!!! for it to stop burning, now Iam just little swollen. Sorry I hope your reaction will not be that long lived.... And I probebly need more hyaluronidase to get this thing out:(

Sorry for your outcome. I had a reaction and for me hyaluronidase did almost nothing but maby I needed more.
