Question for post-op

Did anyone prop pillows under their knees to rest? Dr caught me doing it and told me it would cause clots. I'm two days past surgery now and It feels really good to have something under my knees when sitting. Any one else do this or has your doctor said anything?
My doctor had me place pillows under my knees for the comfort of the lower back and tummy. But he did ask me to move my legs every hour. It is not good to lay so still for long periods of time after surgery.
