Putting my surgery supplies together...need some help
By KristenR. on 04 May 2011
This is what I have so far, and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything else: Big bag ofmaxi-pads for wounds Surgical tape and bandages to hold pads in place Shower chair 2 Binders Pre-op and Post-op Vitamin pack Granny panties Scar cream Extra strength Tylenol Pain pills and Anti-biotic Puppy pads (to put down where ever I sleep, so I don't leak on stuff) Dial anti-bacterial soap (bar and for washing hands) Hand sanitizer Loose sweat outfits Milk of Magnesia Prune juice Oatmeal Protein bars Ensure energy drinks *will get yogurt, fruit, and magazines the day before my surgery* Anything else I might need?
Could not sleep without them or that travel pillow.
-I had a rubber yoga strap on hand and pins for showering with the drains.
-I bought 'Wisps' for brushing when you just don't feel like getting up to do it and they are awesome.
-Plenty of books, iPod, laptop and movies.
-Pillows Pillows and More Pillows! Even when I thought I had enough I ended up taking all the couch and chair pillows too.
-Lastly,Relax! You will be fine. I don't know about the walker though, I was moving, slowly mind you, by myself right after surgery and haven't needed any help ever since. I am very fortunate, my MIL came for three weeks and and is handling all the household stuff. I did pick out some of my recipes and made sure I had the ingredients for her before surgery.
You are all set girl!!
I agree..commando was much easier.
