Pulling nose hairs hurt cartilage in nostril?
By ejej on 18 Feb 2010
I yanked out some nose hairs with a tweezer. I know that I shouldn't have done that but now I feel like I ruined the cartilage in my nostril. When I look inside my nose, it looks like it's kind of drooping but you can't really notice it from the outside.
Is it possible for something like this to happen? or was it just drooping over time. It's almost 5 years since my rhinoplasty.

If a patient is curious about what is going on "inside" their nose, they should see a "professional" nose doctor. Attempting to "look" into one's own nose is a futile endeavor that can only result in problems. I will try to meet your standards of professionalism in the future.

Dr. P speaks the truth! Pulling nasal hairs is a huge no-no for health reasons. There's a great explanation of why here.
Thanks for the Dr. Oz confirmatory article. I didn't mention the severe complication of cavernous sinus thrombosis that Dr. Oz mentions. I agree with the good doctor that nasal hair clippers make for a good present for those nasal hair challenged.
