I have pubic mound(ken doll) swelling at 5 weeks post op TT with MR and it really hurts.

I have to ice it down after long days and even that doesnt always help.  Does anyone else have this problem?

For sure, time is the only thing that really helps!! But ice and elevating my feet helped alot.

My friend said it took hers 3 months to go down. I've 9 days PO & mine is huge. I was worried I was getting a seroma. Ive been trying to ice it & maybe I'll wear spanx underwear to help. Have ya'll gotten relief?

My PS thought it was safer for me to get the lipo later. The plan was to lipo flanks and the tummy, I asked him to also do the mons. He said it wasn't swelling anymore but after a TT the mons appears larger with a flatter tummy. It's not that bad of a procedure and if that's the only area you need done you don't need to take off. Maybe one day off just because you'll be bruised. Hope that helps :)

thanks for your reply. When my mons swells it kinda hurts a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 7. I have to ice it then it doesn't hurt, and the swelling goes down. I'm just confused on my 3rd day po visit my ps checked me and when he noticed I was a bit swollen he inserted a needle to the area and tried to remove fluid- nothing came out so he said that was a good thing. I just hope for my Wed 6/18 30 day po he doesn't insert another needle... I thought I was going to PASS out!!! So how do we know the difference when it comes to normal swelling vs somethings not right. And really lipo there doesn't really hurt, I imagined it would- good to know....

I think the fact that you are only 30 days post op, you have normal swelling. My PS kept telling me that it will pass and it did. It takes a while, mine took almost 3 months to really go away and if you read other posts on the subject thats totally normal. Good luck with everything!!

Hi mine is swelling and it does hurt more later in the day. I'm so afraid it won't go down. 9 days po my dr tried to remove fluid (hurt like hell) but nothing came out. Now he has me wearing my girdle a little lower, but it doesn't seem to be helping me...24 days po now. I'm so worried because I recently returned to work, maybe I'm over doing it and that's why it swellls....

Mine swelled for almost three months. It's hard to get compression down there. I don't think you're overdoing it. Unless you lay down all day it's probably going to swell. When mine finally stopped hurting it still looked swollen so I had lipo and now it hurts all over again!

Question for you, so you didn't have lipo down there during your tt? Did you go back for that procedure because the swelling didn't go down? I'm worried mine won't go down and will have to return to get lipo and have to take more time off from work :/

Almost 4 months post op and still have a little bit of swelling there. It has gotten way better but just a little swelling still hanging on. Can't really tell though, I know it's there but no one else would.

3 weeks post op, and mine is swelling as well. However, I had lipo to my mons pubis during my TT (that swelling hasn't gone down yet) so it could have been worse if it wasn't down.

I'm 7 wks post op and mine looks swollen as well, the doctor said it will take a little time for it to go down, it has gone down since surgery but its taking iits time...one day at a time!!! :(
Jgirl Florida 26 May 2012
Yep it's now 71/2 weeks and still hurting, but I guess it's slightly better. I'm getting lipo in four weeks. Did not have any during surgery.

why didn't you have lipo when you had your TT?
Jgirl Florida 27 May 2012
Not sure, PS mentioned it would have been dangerous

Is you PS charging you for the lipo? I'm 26 days p.o. and my hips seem bigger than ever. I asked my PS about lipo there before my surgery and he didn't think I needed it. I have a pre-op appt. tuesday and will express this concern but I sure don't want to have to shell out any more $$.
Jgirl Florida 27 May 2012
No I'm not getting charged for any of it. He considers it part of the whole TT procedure. I'm also getting my dog ears fixed and my BB revised at the same time. Hopefully you wont be charged!

I have attached a link to the Doctors Q&A's on this topic.  But I can tell you this does happen.  Mine taunted me for weeks but eventually went down.

Ice packs helped me:)
