By Mas_1978 on 30 Nov 2010

I had congenital ptosis on my left eye, On 6th Oct 2010 surgeon did levator resection of 20mm saying levator function was good. i had ptosis of (2~2.5mm). Satures were undissolvable and were treated one week after surgery. My Problem is that swelling still persists looks like(4mm)ptosis,is it normal

It sounds like it's lasting a bit longer than average, according to these doctor responses. Have you had a follow-up with your doctor?

Thanks for the reply, i had follow up with my doctor 10 days back. He said to come after 3 months and also said that some time it takes long but according to doctors at real-self(i have viewed) QAs section, swelling should be over within max 8 weeks or so, but on my side there is no change in swelling. I have also raised the question on realself but have not received any response from any doctor? I am very worried please help me on this? Is there any medication for posr ptosis surgery patients to vanish swelling. Initially i was given ointment & drops which i stopped after a month as per doctor advice.

At least it sounds like your doctor is on top of things. That's very reassuring.

Sometimes it can take a few days to receive a reply, especially with some doctors taking time off for the holidays. Do you have any photos you could post? That will definitely help you get a response.
