Okay, so let me start by saying, I think I read every single review and discussion in this forum, and I saw a lot of discussion about post-surgery bras, and it was completely overwhelming. I asked at my doctor's office and they said the would send me home in one. So I figured I didn't need to buy anything. WRONG. The bra they sent me home in was so uncomfortable! I asked at my post-op appt if I could wear something else and they said sure, any kind of surgical bra is fine. Well I double timed it home and ordered a Marena bra immediately. What relief. I'm so mad I didn't have this for the first few days, I would not have been in nearly as much discomfort. So ladies. Regardless if your doctor tells you you'll be wearing an ace bandage, or that they will send you home in a bra, you need to have at least one other bra waiting for you at home! Besides, your first bra is probably going to get gunky and gross and you'll need to have at least one other to wear while the other is in the laundry. The one I got is this one: Marena Surgical Bra with 2" Elastic Band (F5 Certified Compression Garment). I ordered it from Amazon but you can get from other sources. The 2" band is key, it keeps the bra from rubbing up against your incisions. As for sizing, I know this is something that confuses a lot of us. For the Marena bra I got, all you need is your band size, and unless you are having a lot of lipo done, that should not be an issue. So measure that ribcage and order your bra BEFORE you go to the hospital.
