Rhinoplasty: Q&A

"Pollybeak" Deformity 4 Months After Rhinoplasty?

I had open rhinoplasty 4 months ago. For almost the entire time since, I've had an elevated supratip like in the picture. It extends out from about half way down my nose. It feels very hard and thick, and is pushing up against my skin. Not only does it look bulbous, but it feels very tight and uncomfortable. It is very disappointing for me as I don't think it's going to go down much. Is this pollybeak deformity and if so, how difficult will it be to fix?

Do you have a polly beak deformity

Whether you have a pollybeak depends on whether your surgery involved dissecting above the area of fullness on your bridge. If not you may just have a normal level of swelling at this stage. An examination would also allow for a better assessment of whether what you're seeing is truly a pollybeak deformity or not.
