Mini Tummy Tuck: Forum
Post to Forum

My plastic surgeon said he will do a mini tummy tuck on me. Will I have a good result without a full tummy tuck?

Your ps would tell you to do a full if you need one. Make sure to get more than one consult, and full is more $, so if you need full they would tell you since it would make them more money I would think. I went to 2 consultations and even on surgery day voiced concern that mini wouldn't be enough. My ps said that patients that get mini tt look better after surgery because they look better before. He said I don't have enough to do full. I did get lipo on upper tummy, flanks and inner/outer thighs. I'm 5'6'' and weigh 127. I'm 3 days post op and so far doing great. I get to take a shower today and get to see preview of what I will look like.

I just had a mini on March 3rd and was VERY nervous if the mini would give me results I would be happy with. I was so worried about it that even after I scheduled my surgery and paid in full, I went back into my PS with my concerns. He again assured me that a mini is all I needed. He felt that the positive things I would get from the full, like super tight skin and my upper muscles repaired (they are barely separated) would not out weigh the larger scar (hip to hip) and a reconstructed belly button that would also come with it. Not to mention a longer and possibly more painful recovery.
I am 11 days post op now and am very happy with my results....and you seem to have better before pics than me. Your belly button looks better as mine was scrunchd and loose from being stretched. But after he pulled the skin down it doesn't look that bad. If I would have gone with the full and they reconstructed it then it may have looked different than I wanted anyway. Good luck to you in your upcoming decision and your surgery. I can't wait to hear all about it and to see your results!
My recovery was fairly easy and am back to work already too!

Your loose skin looks to be below the belly button, which is what a mini tummy tuck addresses. I'm going to post this as a question to doctors and see what they have to say.

Please help. I am having surgery soon and could use another opinion.
