Does anyone have PIP implants?

I posted here for the first time regarding rippling/lumps. I had my surgery done in Medellin, Colombia while visiting family. I wrote my surgeon an email and when he told that I had PIP implants ( I lost my certification card) and that there was a big concern about them, I read more about it and made a connection with a comment my aunt, who also has implants, made about compensation. I saw on CNN that the company has been liquidated and to not expect anything from the company. I'm not sure where to start. My surgeon pretty much said that if it's not broken, dont fix it, but to keep an eye on it, but if it has been discovered that PIP is a low grade product, I dont want a low grade in my body. If I go back to him, I have to travel back to Colombia. I do want implants, just good ones.

I also have PIP implants. Placed in 2002. Had a Mammo in Jan. everything looked fine but I just wanted to make sure so i asked for an MRI......OHHHH BOY....I was not ready for the news they gave me. Both my implants ruptured, left is worst than the right. Left implant has ruptures in 5 different places. Silicone is leaking out. Also MRI doc. ordered an ultrasound too. Now I know why I am sick for almost 6 years with all kinds of wierd symptoms. Hairloss,heartpalp,backache, neckache,anxeity, depression, overall i feel like POOP!
Ladies, get an MRI or ultrasound beacuse ...I guess Mamos cant detect ruptures. At least not mine.. I cant wait to get them out, Apr4 cant come soon enough. ( no replacment, IM DONE)

Oh ur skIn should be fine lots of the pics I have seen look natural and I can't wait to get back my wee boobs I am not paying as I had them done with spite and they will remove (and replace if desired) no extra cost! I don't want anything in my body now as I have read all about what medical silicon can do so not worth the risk even the PS contradict themselves regards safety of the implants one stated that even no links to disease can be found they still don't know what affect free silicon has in the body ( my words) and I am sure this is all the tip of an iceberg really! I saw on itv news that mhra knew about this 2 yrs ago and did not bother to tell anyone apart from Drs I honestly think that THEY believe this would pass no harm done!! I have lost faith and trust and they can't give me another dose of poison, but u know what's really sad the areas in this site where there are lots of beautiful people who think they need this plasty that plasty and u know what it's this industry feeding off other peoples insecurities god I am gonna feel good in my own skin when these go because I am now what I should have been 6 yrs ago confident I did not need boobs I needed a PS to say actually no u don't need these ur boobs are NORMAL I can't believe that women are willing to replace how can we trust something that may cause us harm and I'm talking about the medical grade god only knows what damage has been done to us already with the pip xEx

ha ha ha, got to be! How much are SPIRE charging? Where are you? Am in London? All the girls on facebook seem to be going to Westbourne Clinic in Birmingham so I've booked myself in for a consultation for 18th Feb and they can do the removal for £995 under local. Lots of girls getting replacement with local so will wait to hear there feedback as 2 surgeons seem to be looking after all the PIP tits! lol They said we can keep the implants for our claims. yes, filmed would be good, I couldn't watch it! Rather watch a horrow movie with popcorn.
I've no rupture shown or abnormalitles by MRI so am going to be positive that they will clean up where they've been and I can then let my body heal. Am 30 so hoping my skin will go back abit like other girls. We need to be positive and hope we can get to the other side without it disrupting our lives too much. You can buy some good inserts to pop in your bra to help you adjust as I won't have much to put in.

I have a consultation arranged with SPIRE I have been assured I will get a scan and then removal (and replacement) at no extra cost although I think we may all be paying a price we don't yet know about, obviously I am hopeful there won't be any issue regarding removal and I will be insisting on capsulectomy as well. I want the procedure filmed or at least a visual inspection of what is removed! I know there may be some adjustment in the body image so right now I am fatting myself up to put on some natural boob! E

Crucified, I shouldn't laugh as want we're all going through is just awful but the part about cutting them out yourself in a dream made me laugh! I too are opting for a removal as like you've said their just a timebomb waiting to happen and make ladies ill.

We need to be strong and help eachother through the removal process.

Are you going private or NHS? Been referred by my doctor but if takes longer than 2 months I'll need to pay as can't wait too long as making me ill.

I am a victim of the pip scandal and I want these out!!
I too do not want them replaced even though this has been offered by my clinic at no extra cost but even medical grade silicon seems awful it has made me realise that these surgeons and clinics r scripted to hard sell a product no matter what, I feel I have been lied to 6yrs ago, I have lost trust in the people who sold me these Safe Indestructable products were not really honest. Having researched this more and more I have come to the desicion that explant is the only way because even the correct silicone and even saline are damaging women's health and has been doing so for many many years. My heart goes out to all the women affected by pip but I just wish they would see that a replacement is actually just another time bomb. I have had nightmares about removal even dreamt I cut them out myself! Ladies be strong and we can all get through this with each others support E

I had them fitted in November 2004. Going for consultation on Wednesday with a view to getting them removed only, no more implants for me!!!!
