Same thing my face was red raw and turned crusty brownish colour that I was told was expected( bronzing they called it) I swelled a lot! My entire face is full of laser holes and generally look like leather. According to clinic they did eight passes at least but they messed up with details of what machine it was so I don't believe settings given me are real ones. But definately my face was treated equally in high setting regardless if it was scarred area or not. I look dreadful now skin is damaged deeply.

I'm getting Fraxel Re:store treatment on my Tummy Tuck scar and the technician did 8 passes. She said it had to get into the lower skin layers. Even after 1hr with numbing cream on it still hurt like hell......

wow , so i am wondering why on earth they did 12 passes on my face that was in pretty good shape other than a little pigmentation ................... if they only do 8 passes on scarred skin

Hi Sandra, I would have thought that the settings they used on faces would be different than other parts of the body and scarring. My TT scar turned very red and then the skin turned brown a week later and peeled off. I wouldn't want that on my face. Did your facial skin look burnt? I would hope not....

yes it looked like an extreme sunburn and was hot for days after. i am 2 months post laser now and the redness has only just calmed down however if i am active during the day and i get hot and flushed instead of a short time to calm down my face now take up to 12 hours to calm down even after cold showers

That's awful. A few days after getting Fraxel I started using BioOil - you can get it from the supermarket or pharmacy. Here in Melbourne it costs about $24 for 100ml bottle - lasts ages as you only put a small amount on. I started massaging it into the scar (meant to do it twice a day but I only ever remember to do it in the morning). within 2 days the burnt skin/ brown spots fell off and now the skin is normal again. Maybe you could try it?

yes i have thought about getting some Bio oil , i did buy some rose hip oil that helped a little bit, i even tried the honey option one of the girls posted but that was just to sticky to be practical.

It's well worth it I think IMO. Hopefully it will help you, not sure what else you could use.
