Pant size before TT, and then after TT?

By Miah27 on 01 Apr 2012

Hello ladies!  For those who have already had their TT procedures, I'm very curious to know what pant size you were before your TT, and then after?

Prior to TT I was a snug 16, comfortable 18 due to the HUGE roll of overhanging skin/fat I had in my lower abdomen from losing 90 pounds. The 16/18s would fit the horrendous roll & then look like parachute pants in my butt & legs, but I had to buy them big to fit the roll. I am almost 4 months postop & I'm wearing a tight 8, comfy 10. So, I guess I'm down 4 sizes!!!! YAY!!

I went from a tight 12 to a loose 8 in just 3 weeks. PS says I will be even smaller after my swelling goes down!

So far still wearing same size :-( as pre-op & just now able to get them over my but & hips! By the end of the day even they are too tight from the swelling. The do look better since I don't have the fat roll sitting above my hooha....that was the thing I hated the most!! I'm hoping when the swelling let's up & I can get bac to wroking out 100% that I can go down a few sizes.....we shall see!!

Hi ladies, I lost about 2-3 pant sizes. I'm 5 months PO. I really didn't lose much weigh maybe 5-7lbs. The new contour of your body from tummy tuck all of your clothes will fit looser or be too big a few weeks after surgery. Immediately after surgery everything will be too small because of swelling. Hope this helps answer your question.

Thnx hotrodgirl. I'm at a 7 right now but agree that having a flat tummy and being able to wear form fitting clothes - and bathing suits - is more important. Thanks for the reply!

I haven't had surgery yet, but asked my ps what to expect. I am currently a size 8. But sometimes a 6 or 10 depending upon the clothing and style. He said that I would likely be a size 6 after surgery. I think that having a flat tummy and being able to wear more form fitting clothing is even more important then the size. I'm so looking forward to loosing my belt bulge.

All I want is my stomach to be smaller so my hips looker bigger.
krnamba 9 Apr 2012
Omg! Take my hips! All I want is for my hips to be smaller so they match my smallish waist. I hate my curves... They are too dramatic for me lol.

Me too. I want that hourglass shape.

I posted this in response to another question, but I'll include it here, as well.

Yes, I had a TT in Feb 2011. I got rid of my 'baby belly', and lost about 5 inches around that area.

It takes a while, because the swelling lasts so long, but you will eventually be in smaller clothing. My doc told me to not plan to buy new clothes until about May, and he was right.

I dropped from a 12/14 in pants, to a 6. I did keep all my off-season clothing though, just in case. This winter, when I got out my winter clothes, they were all waaaaaaaaaay too big, so I donated them. I had actually given about 1/2 of them away last spring. After last summer, I kept a few things, just in case I put on weight over the winter, and I have gained a small amount. Now the weather is nice, I am working at getting rid of that!

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! That is a big change! I'm so excited to get this done. Do you have any before and after pictures? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you weigh pre op and post op? How much weight did you gain after?

Wow you dropped a lot. I haven't gone shopping yet cause I'm still swelling. I can't wear my smaller size pants cause it would be to uncomfortable by the end of the day with the swelling. I hope to drop another pant size or two. :) Congrats on the tt.

great job girls! thanks for replying!!

Thx Sweetness. Your results are amazing. Saw your before and afters (currents lol). I'm sure you'll get to your 10 in no time.

I went from a 16 to a 12. Still swollen tho. But hoping to be a 10 in a month or so. Strick diet and exercise!

Thanks Mimi!!!

I have dropped from wearing 12s and 14s before TT to now wearing 10s and almost in an 8!! It depends on the brand and what type of clothing it is. I bought two shirts last week, both were the same size, one fit and one did not. Same with pants. I do agree with another person who posted on here that it depends on how you wore your clothes prior to surgery. I usually wore mine a little big just to hide the rolls. But I am very excited about the difference other than the fact that I have nothing to wear! LOL
krnamba 6 Apr 2012
haha... having no clothes is one thing I am scared of! Spending all that money on a nice bod then having to come out and buy a new wardrobe! eeekk!! It's totaly worth it though I'm sure! Can't wait to find out for myself =]

Thanks, finallygoingtodoit! I have heard situations similar to yours too.

My pant size didn't change at all after surgery, although I have read some posts of people that lose several sizes! My pants to look much more flattering though, I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have been wearing the size I was! Haha
krnamba 1 Apr 2012
Lol me too! I have read some too where they drop a few also, I would just hate to be that unlucky person who didn't drop any. I'm sure alot depends on your size pre-op too. Some of the ladies who didnt drop any were like a size 6 anywaus and didnt really look like they needed a TT. Haha. Anyways, I hope more people reply to this so we both can get a good estimate. Do you have a TT scheduled?
