Palomar Fractional 1540 Laser for acne scars on dark skin?

Hi, Since several years of living with acne scars and them increasing, I have decided to go through a treatment. I got consultation and next week I will start a series of 4 Chemical peels.

Afterward I will do Palomar one time every month for 4-6 months. I was really looking forward to this but have only read negative responses to this treatment and that it might worsen my dark spots. Anyone who has experience or tips on wether I should go through with this or not? The photo was taken last week and I'm a 19 year old girl. Thanks.
