Is this pain ever going to go away

By Phy on 12 May 2012

Had mastectomy in May and had expander put in November 29.  This is getting to be very painful.  I have two more injection of saline to go.  Had to cancel my appointment last week.  Sometime I feel like I have the flu.  Can not believe this was more painful than mastectomy.  Glad when this is over.  Trying to expand to D cup because of my size, but I ready to quit and accept a C cup.

The last day that I thought I simply could not tolerate the skin stretchers one more second and going to bed in pain and waking up in pain, was the day everything turned around and the pain subsided. I was ready to quit! Seemed like when it got to that point, I felt some relief. I feel so sorry for anyone who has to go through that. It truly sucks! Hang in there!!

Phy I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain with your expander. Unfortunately to get that skin to stretch, they are a necessity. I am sure the last 6 months has felt much longer to you and I totally understand your thoughts to go with a C cup. I have not had too much pain from my expander, but decided to go with a C cup as well, instead of going to a D. My swapover is on June 13th, so I am really hoping I will be happy with my decision.
Hope all goes well for you and I am sure you will make the right decision regarding your cup size.
