WOW!!! Anon that bad! I can gain 5 lbs. in one sitting, yet alone a vacation or holiday. I modified the HCG diet and am taking off the weight. But, I was hoping that the Smart Lipo MPX would take off the back rolls and tighten it up. I'm sick & tired of those things. But, I don't need to gain weight either any place else. I talked to my plastic surgeon and they said they could suction off 22 lbs. That's a lot of weight. I thought I'd try and pull as much off as I could. But like you I'll have to stick to a low carb diet. Take Care!

when they tell you to not gain weight or it will go to other places, make sure you follow those rules! i guess i have gained some. although i had my flanks done which included back rolls, the back rolls are back. they said you couldn't gain back in those places! baloney. places that never had fat now have fat. arms, thighs. it's wierd and gross. sure it's my fault for gaining but it has only been 5 lbs or so. and looks like 25. never again. i almost prefer my old look. at least i could hide that. now i can't bare my arms. i just hope it will come off like it came on.

I also had alot of fat removed from my upper and lower abdomen and love handles. I went to a "medspa" i chicago. I was surprised also they didnt tell me to loose weight first. They did my procedure all at once. I am 5 days post surgery and am doing great. I hardly have any bruising, just redness. Swollen yes, but thats normal. My muffin top is already gone and I love that i have smoothness on my sides and not love handles!

To mommaszoo, How much fat did they remove? Are you still continuing to lose weight during your 5 days pos-opp...or have you gained a little water weight? Did they give you water pill? Sound like everything is working out great for you. The doctor that burned me died. Now the state won't do anything about Dr. Michael Saenz Gomez, at Youthful Essence Med Spa in Katy, Texas. I still am disfiguered eventhough I have undergone one reconstructive surgery with a 3 x's board certified plastic surgeon. 25K worth of surgeries coming up in 2011.

it was a huge like 4200 cc of fat that they removed. its now been 13 days and I am down 11 pounds, but have been taking water pills, they didnt tell me to take them, i just did that on my own because my ankles were swelled up. its going good, i dont expect to me a model but my rolls are gone and love handles are non exsistant too. Sorry to hear all the trouble you had, best of luck with upcoming procedures!

my update: after more than three months, i can put on a bra without pain or itching on my back. my doc said i'd have an "hourglass" shape and i definitely do not have that. but the rolls are gone so that is major.

i do not consider my doctor a quack. as i said, i found out after my first post that he is a plastic surgeon. i do think they were not honest about potential healing time with so much fat removed. they should make people lose weight. but i am slowly healing. i discovered i can wear a bra on top of a tank top and it's ok. that's progress! jciscoming, i am sorry you have years of repairs to go through. and yes the states need to get involved with these medspas.

To 3617 anon: Can you tell us city and state of the doctor? Mine was in Katy, TX. I should have checked his certification more clearly too. He came on like a Christian. A Christian would NOT have done what this doctor did to me. All he wanted was the money too. Now, I've got years of treatments and surgeries and fat grafts to go through. The doctor ran off & won't return my calls. I wish the states would get involved with these Med Spa's. These guys are nothing but quacks!!!

i need to correct what i said before. it was a spa, but it appears the doctor is a cosmetic surgeon. i still believe the final results will be worth it -- but my pain and recovery time is much worse than any i have read or heard about. my only complaint with the doctor is i think he should have advised me to lose weight first and that he did not becus he'd rather have the payment then and not later. or risk that i'd never come back. also they should not tell patients they will be back at work in three days when not everyone is the same. here i am 10 wks and cant even wear normal clothes or a bra!!!!!

It was a medical spa. The doctor was said to be a medical doctor doing this as well. I admit I didnt check his qualifications. dumb. He is now doing breast augmentation too. His staff have the biggest chests and smallest waists I've ever seen. Back to me, I am now 10 weeks out and the burn is still pretty uncomfortable. Still no bra and only elastic pants. Still quite swollen. I hope someone who had a lot of fat removed will tell me their story.

As so many others have said, smartlipo is NOT as easy as they say. Not if you have a significant amount of fat to remove. When I went in for my consultation I was expecting them to tell me I had to lose weight first. (I am easily 50 plus pounds overweight.) I was surprised when they told me they could do my abdomen and flanks without any weight loss. My brain told me this wasn't quite right but I went ahead. They had to do two separate procedures due to the amount of fat. I did the abdomen first and they scheduled the flanks for three weeks later. As if! I could barely get out of bed at 3 wks. I have to say, however, the results were pretty good considering how I looked before. I waited almost one year to do the flanks -- I was that scared. I did the flanks - which included the back where I had rolls. At my two week follow up I was pretty happy. I was in my jeans and felt ready to work out again. They told me to wait one month before working out. At approx 5 wks post flanks, the sunburn like pain they talk about came on full force. I couldnt even wear a bra. I can't wear anything touching my abdomen or back. I roll my sweats and underwear down as low as possible. I havent resumed working out becus with DD's and no bra, that's not a good thing! My rolls are gone and I think the results will be positive. (There is still a roll at the bottom of my abdomen (remember this is one year later) and I am not surprised given all the fat that was removed. I am willing to accept that. Bottom line, it works but it is not easy. I think for just a little pouch it probably is, but for a lot of fat, no way. I honestly believe my doc should have made me lose weight first....but then he wouldnt have had the money in his pocket, would he? I am now 8 1/2 wks post flanks, always braless, wear only elastic rolled down and hurt moving or just sitting. The nurse looked at me and said I was healing well. I just hope it goes away soon. I am currently unemployed and dont know what I would do if I had a job to go to.

Smart Lipo can be safe when done by a board certified plastic surgeon. Stay out of these Medical Spas. These Medical Spas are docs that have taken a week-end course & now think they can do plastics. They are in it for the fast cash no insurance to deal with. You will ruin your life. Believe me I've looked like a monster for 2 years. It will take 3 surgeries & 3 fat grafts over three years to look half way normal.
