I'm having a hard time healing this open wound I have under my right breast. My lift was done May 17th and it has been about 2 1/2 weeks since the area opened after the scab feel off early. My doctor told me to cover it with triple antibiotic ointment and don't wear a bra at night, but not much has changed. I go back tomorrow for a checkup. Anyone have other ideas? Thanks,Becky

You might try using one or both of the comfort sling products which brought the rash beneath my breasts under control immediately. Granted, the origin of my problem was not the same as yours, but it was a miracle. I wore the sling all night which let the area breathe and prevented the sore skin from rubbing against the skin on my body beneath; I used the strapless bra inserts inside my bra during the day to protect my breasts from becoming further inflamed by rubbing against my bra. They were terrific products for me.

I had my done like 20 years ago and everything was fine . About a month ago i noticed a hole under my left breast. Its a little sore and it seems to have a little silicone leaking out.I think maybe this happened because i;ve gained a few pounds recently and needed to buy some bigger bra's.I'm thinking maybe the underwire in the bra was pushing on my breast and made the hole.it also feels hard almost like scar tissue. I AM FREAKING OUT !!!! im going for a ultrasound tomorrow. My life has changed the last year i dont have insurance now only the medical card.I dont think they will cover this type of thing, and if they take them out i cant pay for new ones can u imagine what my breasts would look like after all th ese years. I'm 52 but i look very good for my age. I'm scared i won't be able to go outside anymore, and the god damn silicone that maybe going through my body.Does anyone else have a problem like this ?

I feel each lady that has commented on this forum. I did a breast lift september 3rd and when the tape was removed I had open wounds. As time went by they opened more and is now 6cm wide at the bottom and 3cm at the top. I have never been so afraid, depressed, regretful and unsure in my life. I just don't see how it will heal. I do the dressings with the triple antibiotics and I'm still afraid. I too was thinking of removing the implants, so that it can be closed, but I'm now scared shitless from any surgery.

Sorry to hear that, it's a terrible terrible thing! I'm doing a lot better, the wound has not closed completely, but it's getting there. That's keeping me optimistic...It's the longest process I've ever endured with wound healing. I will be so so happy when it's all over. My surgeon says maybe December, that's an extremely long time. That will be 3 months of wound healing and that's if it's completely healed. Thanks for checking! Praying everything goes well for you. Keep faith!

I ended up having the implant removed last week. The staph seeping would not go away. The PS said there was no infection in the implant and I am still a mystery. I am hoping to have the implant put back in about a month. The incision after taking the implant out is fine = no rash, no blistering and no seeping. It's healing well.

Please look into wearing a BreastComfort Sling or a BreastComfort cushioned bra insert - both are soft cushions with wicking fabric which elevates the breast to keep the irritated skin from rubbing against itself and creating further irritation. I wear the sling as often as I can, particularly when I sleep. I no longer have itching or burning beneath my breasts and I've been able to dispense with cortisone creams and lotions entirely. I can't recommend it enough!

Hi everybody I had a breast lift and lipo 4 weeks ago. I had open wound 3 weeks after my surgery underneath both of my breasts so my doctor put new sutures. I had to go to post op therapy for the lipo and the lady who did the massages explained to me why we get open wounds. Every time you try to get up from your bed, try to get somebody to lift you up. They can put their arms around your neck and lift you up so you don't effort yourself by putting all your support on your arms, which will affect your suture. Since then my husband is the one that helps me out to get up. She also recommended not to wash your breasts while you shower. Try to cover your breasts with something so the suture doesn't get wet. After you shower clean the suture with alcohol only. Also she said to not lift your arms up for 2 months after de surgery. Doctors say 2 weeks but is better to be safe than sorry. I haven't had any complications since then and I will have my stitches removed by next Monday. Good luck

That is wonderful news joyijo! I am still battling this issue, with my wounds (under the breasts) still open since June 24 2014 and my skin is still draining/weeping...I am so very frustrated and sad, depressed etc..I now have an appointment after seeing my primary care physician with a Wound Clinic at our local hospital 15 September. I had no idea this option even existed and I am very disappointed my plastic surgeon who is affiliated with hospital NEVER thought to suggest I go there. I have been through pure hell everyday with this disfigurement of my breast as they definitely do NOT resemble my god given breasts and the constant leaking/weeping is just horrible (like a bad dream). I faithfully see my surgeon every couple of weeks and each time he makes me feel like there must be something terribly wrong with me (as he has NEVER seen this before) and suggested genetic testing. I went to my primary and he did a variety of blood tests to include genetic testing and all have come back completely NORMAL....this was great news however; I am trying to get healed so I can do this surgery again and since I don't know what caused it I don't know what I need to correct my problem so it doesn't happen again!! Good luck to you joyijo and continued health! Any advice is most appreciated...

I'm glad to hear that. My sister and I had breast lift around the same time. She also had an open wound under her right breast because she was trying to open a bottle. She knew she wasn't a supposed to do anything that requires strength with her arms, but she was alone and she got frustrated that she couldn't do anything. Thank God the wound was not as big as mine so she didn't need new sutures. She only cleaned it with saline water and now The doctor already removed her stitches yesterday. Remember to not effort yourself by doing something that requires strength. Get somebody else to do it for you. I know it gets frustrating but we need to do it if we want a quick recovery. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery

I have blistering and some draining from the incision under my left breast also. My PS got mad at me last week because he doesn't know why it is happening and is telling me he wants to take the implant out. I have been doing reading about spitting sutures and l think that's what this is. I do not have an infection - just tired of this not healing. Where should I go since he is throwing his hands in the air?

I had the same problem. I used saline and silver sulfadiazine cream and bought no stick quaze at cvs. Made. Huge difference. It took mine forever to heal

Mommyoftwogirls, thanks for sharing. I think I will get the silver sulfadiazine also. This is so so disturbing. Happy to know you healed.

My PS had the same attitude with me, he was upset because he didn't know what to do!! My PS said I was the 1% and he had no idea what was wrong with me. I have had many tests done and there is NOTHING wrong with me! Go to a WOUND Center most hospitals have them or your primary care physician. Please reach out to the wound center or your primary care DON'T let him take them out if no infection. My PS took them out and I have been through absolute HELL emotionally and physically! Do you think my PS has called or even just tried to reach out to see how I am NO WAY!! You need to take this in your own hands! I finally got fed up with the drainage and pain I went to my primary Doctor and showed/insisted he help me!! The primary care doc sent me to the wound center which was the BEST thing that could have happened to me!! I have been with the wound center for almost a month now and my right breast has FINALLY healed. The left one still has a 1cm hole which I pack every night (well my husband does I still can't look at them). The Wound Clinic is amazing....and your PS is responsible for ensuring your wounds heal. Take some advise from me I was told by the wound center that had I not come there (had my implants put in 08 May 2014 and they were removed June 24 2014) I would NOT have HEALED. I hope all goes well with you blondmane!! Keep in touch...I can see from all the posts I am not the 1% there are many having the same issue...

I went to my primary for an other culture of the serum and am waiting to hear back what it consists of. I also went to a Homeopathic doctor who tested me and said I am having an allergic reaction to mold. I am trying drops to help get my system back into wack. I will contact a wound care facility tomorrow. I don't want to have this taken out if not necessary!

I think that is your best bet. I would take a shower and wash it very gently and then put saline on it, and then rub alloy of the silver cream and a nonstick quaze. You will see a difference in just a week.

I have this problem also. I waited so long for this augmentation (almost 50 yrs old) and was so excited and happy. Had breast augmentation (Mentor Gel Implants) surgery May 8 2014 within a month they had to be removed due to my wounds (under the breast) weren't healing (small holes appearing) especially the right. They had to be removed June 24, 2014 and drainage tubes were left in as the draining just doesn't stop! I was told that I have to wait 3-6 months to have them re-inserted however; I am so afraid that this may happen again. It is now 20 July 2014 and I am still draining from the incisions mostly clear to yellow (sticky) drainage. This has been a very bad experience to say the least. I can't stop crying and just need some help in stopping this drainage I can't take much more of this.....any suggestions...I am ready to put (butterfly strips) over wounds..

Surgeon stated to me concerning my open holes, that the breast are fatty tissue and the drainage is from the fatty tissue. I did go to my local dr. since I had Mercer Staph years back, and got daily shots for 17 days.

Omg im having the same problem i had my breast lift about a month ago and I ended up getting a open wound just under my left breast. This has me feeling so depressed because I just want it to heal! I've been cleaning it with saline water also been applying Neosporin, Sulfur powder , even the the Silver Sulfate cream that my doctor prescribed me but I just feel like none of it working! Is there anything else I can apply that would show faster results ?

This is what I did to heal and you must be patient. Less is better. I washed the wound by squeezing water and a mild soap like lever or cetaphil then ran water on wound, pat it dry with clean paper towel then apply triple antibiotic ointment not neosporin. Then I applied the nonstick pad over wound. I did this twice a day for a month but you should see a difference in a week. Make sure you wear a loose fitted bra and limit your movement with your arms. Your stitches are still healing in the inside. I hope this helps you and be patient. Get well and time will heal it.

Okay thanks. Yea so I've been reading it's all about being "patient" lol but it's so fustrating to enjoy something I wanted so bad and yet I have this open flesh thing that looks so horrible -.- . What type of triple antibiotic ointment are you talking about ? Because mine still bleeds a little and it looks so gross on the pad. My concern is putting ointments on the wound help it really wouldn't it be best to have something so it can dry out? So it can become a scab? I also have little open wounds around my areola looks like I got all nibbled around. Not cute. I hope it doesn't heal that way . My right breast is completly fine and healed it looks so perfect compared to my left.

I just used the Walgreens brand triple ointment. I went through the same thing. That's why I cleaned the wound with a little soap, pat dry with paper towel and put the ointment on the nonstick pad lightly then cover it. I'm sorry about being frustrated because I was scared too! But less products is better for it. I had the same with slight bleeding on nipple area too. I just did the same process. I had two nonstick on one breast- one on the nipple and one under my breast. Then on the breast I had one underneath. I did find that using too many products made the wound leaky. Try the simple routine and within a week it should start to close up some. I understand because you are on a roller coaster of mixed emotions. I had a total of three wounds. Believe me things will get better. My PS told me not to use the neosporin just the triple ointment. My pad looked gross too but after a week or two it was hardly nothing on the pad.

I have days were I feel regretful or just plain depressed like if I'm some type of Frankenstein monster falling apart! But thanks for the advise I'll look Into buying that ointment.
